Erika's Diary

I don't know if this helps, but I can lose weight on 1500 calories. But I choose that number because I tend to get very hungry and it's almost impossible for me to eat less than 1000 a day. Maybe if you eat more, you'll have more energy to exercise and burn it off anyway?

Hola again....

the worst thing you can do to your body is drastically limit the amount of food (nutrients, vitamins, etc) in your diet. If anything, eating small meals every 3 hours or so will boost your metabolism, so that it burns more efficiently. Go to the TOOLS and Calculators section and figure out your BMR (basal metabolic rate) or just plug in the following info in the Harris-Benedict Equation. (Just google it.) Read stickied threads to learn more on figuring out how many calories you should be eating. If you start your calories too low for your weight, it'll be even more difficult for you to lose towards the end since there won't be much of a calorie deficit that can be done.

I totally agree with Cheryl. I am speaking from experience.
When I started I also limited my calories to 1000/ day, it did not do any good for me. I was not losing, always hungry, did not feel strong enough for exercising.. etc. Upping my calories and concentrating on my exercise did the trick for me.
Now I am losing on 1400-1500 cal/day.
The stickies are full of information...
Good luck on your journey!!

Thank you hajni!

I think based on everyone's responses I will up my calorie limit to 1200-1300. Hopefully this will do me some good. :p

Well today I tried to up my calorie intake a little bit. Here is what I ate :

Breakfast - Breakfast Burrito (280 Calories)

Lunch - Turkey and Mustard Sandwich (233 Calories)
1 Cup of Pineapple chunks (79 Calories)

Dinner - Canned Ravioli (400 Calories)
1 Cup of Pineapple chunks (79 Calories)

This comes to a total of 1070 Calories. I would like to eat 1200 but i'm just not hungry anymore, and if i'm not hungry I dont want to eat, that is where part of my problem started in the first place. I think my body is starting to get used to not eating very many calories

I plan to exercise when my husband gets home, consisting of treadmill and eliptical. I have already cleaned the house and chased around my little ones, so hopefully that burned some calories! :)

I supposed you shouldn't eat if you're full. Still try to get those calories on up there! And good job on the chores. Household chores are a great way to burn extra calories while you have time to kill. Seems like you're doing pretty well though, so keep on keepin' on.

I'm back on track!

Okay, I know I havent posted in a while. I went through a stressful move and just kind of fell off the wagon, but i'm back up and running now! I have since changed my diet from 1000 calories a day to just low/no fat, and exercise! I'm also taking the NV weight loss beauty pills. Hopefully they work! Talk to you all later! :)
