I am new to this forum. I am looking for an out rather than food. I moved in with my boyfriend and his son and they eat horribly so I got in that pattern and gained 20lbs. I know how to eat and what to do but I find I cave whenever we got out to eat (which is alot) or just when I'm bored or upset i binge - not to mention I love beer. Ive gotten into some lazy and bad habits with food over the past year and am looking for a way out. I diet....lose 5-7 lbs then gain it all back again. I have now starting watching what I eat again, am going to see a friend who is a naturopathic Doctor and am taking supplements, accupuncture and joined a gym 2 days ago.

Hopefully this time around it will work, and hope this forum will help.

Welcome to the forum.

Losing weight when it hits the 20 pound mark is a whole lot wiser to waiting until you get a major problem to deal with.

Many of us have found that a lifestyle change approach works a lot better than the yoyo approach of losing weight and then regaining it all - even though it has not been a lot of weight each time round for you.

We tend to stay permanently on project after we get to goal - just acting in a modified manner to not continue losing weight indefinitely...

I am sure that you will find lots of great information on nutrition and exercise here. There are great sticky threads in all of the sections that are well worth reading.
