Eating quantities and Excercise

I'm about 180cm and 80kg's. Have reacently started working out with a focus on my upper body and abbs area. People are already noticing a difference which is good. Basically I hit the gym 3-4 times a week. I also have been making fruit smoothies with things such as mango's, strawberries, banannas and milk with a 2 raw eggs in with it. I do this half hour or so before i got to bed and in the morning for breakfast.

My question has to do with the amount of eggs I have. Obviously its enough because Im already noticing a difference. But is it too much? With the two shakes a day I end up having four raw eggs a day. And its the whole egg i throw in.

The other question is: Will eating all these eggs be a problem when working on my body fat for my abbs? I do alot of crunches and some swimming at night.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

The eggs alone wont make you fat, its what you eat as a whole.
Are you currently trying to loose fat (cutting) or are you trying to get bigger muscles (bulking)?
I dont think 4 raw eggs is too much. I bet someone is bound to come inn here and tell you to ditch the yolk and go with egg whites only, but that really depends on your colestorol levels. Fat is good for you, your body needs it.
Doing crunches wont help the fat over your stomach, they will only make your abs bigger/stronger

What does your routine look like, and what else do you eat in a day?

Depending on your body type, your body doesn't actually need as much food as people often feed it on a bulk. That is if you are on a bulk.

But so far, if it's working for you, then i suggest keep it up. If you want better results with ur abs, just watch ur diet more carefully, IMO would mean cutting it down to 2 whole eggs.

Can't tell if you are trying to increase lean muscle mass or lose fat. You need to pick a goal and stick with it. Which are you shooting for? Oh yea, and the above post is correct.... if you are getting the results you are after, don't listen to anyone on here.... stick with it until the results slow or stop.

I don't recommend eating raw eggs unless they are pasteurized (and if you cracked em from the shell, they aren't).

for 2 reasons
1. raw eggs can contain salmonella. salmonella poisoning will take you outta the gym for 2-3 days.

2. cooking eggs makes them MORE available to the body than raw eggs.

Yeah, that's the only problem that I see as well, and its a big enough problem not to eat them raw at all.

Ok, appolgies if i kind of posted a rather vague question yesterday. Since then I have done a bit of reading and thinking.

So far Im only new to all this, but what I understand is bulking increases general muscle size and cutting looses body fat which would help with toning of the muscles. Am I correct?

In which case. I think bulking is what I am doing at the moment. Although I am fairly happy with my size, I might just continue a little longer, say 4-5 weeks. Then as I understand it, would I begin cutting to work on my boddy fat and definiton? Correct?

With this salmonella, that is usually pretty severe sort of poisoning isn't it? In which case how do I pasteurized the eggs?

Anyways ill do some more reading on bulking and cutting.

the easiest thing to do is to just cook them. otherwise pay the extra money and buy a carton of pasteurized egg whites. realize they'll contain no fat/yolks at all.

just because Rocky drank raw eggs doesn't mean they are a good idea.

Hahaha yeah its a bit like that.

Can you get them from your regular grocery store or is this a body building thing?

I herd by cooking them loose all their protein value. When you say cook them, do you mean the usual scamble or fry them in a frying pan?

Actually most eggs in grocery stores are pasteurized in the shell. Just read the box. I would still cook them though just to be absolutely safe.

Ok so at the moment, eating wise, I have been eating lots of pasta and meat for dinner. Plenty of cheese and milk. Lots of fruit in my smoothies with my eggs. And lately have been trying to get into a routine of eating some more snack throughout the day for morning tea and afternoon tea, Such as crackers with cheeze and macadamian nuts and cashews.

Like I said I do seem to be bulking up a bit so Im fairly happy with my bulking for now. But any of you have ideas regarding some touch ups on my eating habbits?

When I finally managed to break my weight-gain plateau years ago, I did it by not putting limits on what I ate.

I'd buy trays of beef from the store, usually a lb, a lb and a half, grill the whole thing, smother it in cheese, and eat it along with 3-4 cups of whole milk.

Or eat a pizza with a few chicken breasts and some olive oil on it.

2-3 cans of tuna in a box of tuna helper.

1500 calorie "protein shakes"

Things like that.

When you're small and want to get bigger, the first mental block to get past is eating.
