Eating dinner after HIIT session

Last night I did a HIIT session at around 7.00pm, finished at around 7.35pm. I waited for roughly an hour (approx 8.45pm) before having some dinner as I didn't want to eat before the session and I didn't want to eat too late into the night (before going to bed).

Would this be a long enough wait before eating after a HIIT session (an hour)?

I would eat as soon as possible after a HIIT session to help the recovery process. Also 35 minutes is too long for a HIIT session. I usually do it for about 20 minutes.

I read somewhere that you should not eat for a while so your body can start burning the stored fat instead of the food being eatien after a session.

35 minutes - That is including the warm up and cool down time, that alone takes up roughly 10 - 12 minutes.

Thats what I was thinking. As long as you've warmed down for at least five minutes or so, so the "blood shunt" can open up youre good. The sooner the better. Youll burn whatever fat you need over the next hours, but the replenishment is more important so you dont break down the muscle to get what you need.
