Early morning waking?

I was just wondering if anyone else found themselves waking up early while they are losing weight? I seem to always wake up about 6am, sometimes earlier, and can't get back to sleep. I am often quite hungry when I wake up so wondered if that could be the cause... but my dieting is hardly restrictive at the moment so I'm a bit confused. My daily deficit is usually in the region of 200-400 calories and I'm losing less than 1lb a week. I always have a snack before bed too! -cereal with milk or peanut butter on toast usually because I read that tryptophan/calcium/carbohydrate combination helps you sleep.

So yeah, does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? Or do you think its unrelated to dieting...? Its just it does seem like I'm waking up because I'm hungry...

That happens to me, no matter how late I go to bed or what I eat. I just get up and start my day when that happens. It works for me.

Don't you get really tired? I get up too and try and get on with my day but because it happens every day I just feel sososoo tired and unproductive. Its really frustrating because I know I could function so much better if I could just sleep! Asked about sleeping pills but apparently they don't help with waking up early... I guess I should probably suspend weight loss for a while and see if that helps cos I'm not overweight so spose its not main priority. Being able to study should be more important. But since it doesn't seem like other people wake up early when they're losing weight maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely.

Then I just ease myself into bed earlier. It works out after awhile.

when i first started losing weight i would wake up early, not even because i was hungry or anything. i'd normally just start my day with doing stuff around the house, then head to the gym after a small breakfast. since i got up so early, i was tired earlier on in the night, so i went to bed early. it seemed to even itself out now though...
