Dumbell VS Bar squat

What is the major difference between a Squat using 2 dumbbells or using one bench press bar?

Good day

I'm assuming with the barbell you can use alot more weight and develop the legs faster then using dumbbells. Dumbbell Squats can be used for stabilizing muscles. If you wan't variation for the squat, then after 4-6 weeks you can switch over to dumbbells periodically.

Your arms get tired fast with the dumbells and you will not be able to hold much weight. I dont see anyone holding 115 lbs dumbbell weights in each hand while doing squats.

I cannot do a lot of weight on barbell when doing squats because my bone hits the dumbbell and the gym doesnt have a very good cover for the bar, So i am limited to my weight due to my bone hitting.

pretty much what's been said...barbell on the traps allows for more weight to be used.

Alex...are you holding the bar in the right spot? what 'bone' is it hitting? your shoulderblades? spine? if its hitting your spine, step up the back exercises to build up more muscle to cover the bone.

Ya its hitting my spine bone. I wrap an extra towel around the bar pad in the gym to soften it up a little. What exercise can I use to improve that region? shrugs?

Also, you gotta make sure you are tensing your traps when supporting the barbell too. There are a lot of people who just rest it...but you should really tense your traps. That will help
