Dumbbell Flye

How effective is this exercise?

For the chest, I am benching of course, and I am also doing the dumbbell presses. But that's pretty much it.

What is the best chest exercise you know of?

Thanks in advance.

Flys should be used as a finishing movement for chest. Perform your presses first, then complete your session with flys.

I very rarely perform flyes...my chest exercises usually are presses, both horizontal and vertical presses. FLyes are more or less a variation exercise.

I have been doing flies for a long time. I have found out they are just super annoying to do. I recommend staying with the presses to workout your chest. Pec dec is also not that great either.

The problem with DB flys is that at the top of the lift, all tension is relieved.

I've read cable cross flys to be the best.

I like flys because its a different movement, I try to keep my arms slightly bent throughout and use only my chest to move the weight. I can feel it in the very center of my chest, more than with presses. Of course I do presses as well, and finish with flys.

I think that the tension is relieved at the top of nearly all push excersizes.

hehe yea the Pec Dec was designed for magazine covers solely i think, doesnt feel right in any way atleast for me.
Dumbell flyes is a good exercise to bad my left shoulder wont let me do it often :(

i found that dumbbell fly's worked great for me, i started off slowly and painfully, but since then ive gone from a flat pecs to well defined and muscular pecs, and still building.
