drinking water is good to lose weight easily, even research as show that by talking up to 8 glasses of water will help you to burn fat

Indeed water is good natural resource with all mineral and always good for health.

3-4 litres? I'm currently up to about 2.8, I didn't realize that much more was needed. Is water content from food taken into account in that 3-4 litres? If so, I probably get that much :D

Damn! My water intake is currently stuck at 1.5 l.
The problem is that I rarely drink anything when I am out. I should start carring my water bottle out with me.
But I drink a lot of tea, does it count as water intake? :p

Why wouldn't it? :p

@OP : water doesn't burn fat as far as I know.

I am not a medical expert and cannot therefore comment on it - but I have read the following in an article:

The kidneys can't function properly without enough water. When they don't work to capacity, some of their load is dumped onto the liver. One of the liver's primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body. But if the liver has to do some of the kidney's work it can't operate at full throttle. As a result, it metabolizes less fat more fat remains stored in the body and weight loss stops.

Yes daily 3-4litres should be taken compulsorily.

On this forum - I know a lot people that aim for the recommendation (from the International Sports Medicine Institute) of 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds that you weigh. That gives us all different targets - which gets bigger for heavier people...

But I drink a lot of tea, does it count as water intake? :p

Tea contains caffeine (as does coffee). Caffeine is a duiretic so it isnt as good as drinking water... In a way - it doesnt count as much as water...
This is what the Mayo Clinic have to say on the subject:

Always here to spare your knowledge Omega! :coolgleamA:

That's why I try to not give advice when I'm not 100 % sure about what I say, I went a little overboard, sorry for that.

I keep mentioning that I am certainly no expert - but I have read a fair bit while struggling with my own weight battle...

Its great that we do all help each other... The vast majority of times I see people say exactly what I would say myself... I'm just such a chatterbox that I jump in if I spot something and think that I can add anything...

If I know that something comes from an expert source (like Mayo clinic) I say so to add emphasis...

The liver and kidney thing did not come from that level of source - so I am less certain as to whether it was accurate... I thought that it was interesting and worth remembering just the same...

Water makes a HUGE difference! I've been dyhydrated for most of life....sluggish, always tired, my face had little teeny bumps under the skin..I forced myself to drink water (I was a never a huge fan) and I also added a squeeze of lemon/lime or added my favorite fruit to a big pitcher of water and kept in my fridge for the week!
Also bringing a bottle of water wherever you go is super important. I was so sidetracked before and forgot to hydrate myself. Ever since I started drinking more water I am more energized, my skin is completely clear and I have lost the 'puffiness' in my face from water-retention.

I love water! I think I drink too much water, I've been known to drink 1-2 gallons a day. Currently I just drink water when I'm thirsty, Or when I feel like having some water haha :) other then water I really only drink coffee and soy milk. I kind of figured it would aid in weight loss, isn't fat expelled through urine?

If you talking about drinking only water as your beverages but still eating, then yes, it will definitely help if you used to drink soft drinks a lot. But, remember that you need calcium so drinking just water is not a good idea.

You do not need to drink milk to get adequate calcium.
My 0% Greek yoghurt is brilliant for calcium - and lots of people do not realise that you can get calcium from things like salmon and baked beans.
A list of foods which are reasonably high in calcium includes sardines, tofu and ice cream...

There are lots of ways that we can hit our nutritional targets if we become reasonably knowledgeable about food.

What how is it possible? daily i have taken more water but not possible to reduce my fat!i have one idea honey mixed with water may be this is great way reduce the fat!
Water doesn't "reduce" the weight of a person. It can help with weight loss, but because it can fill you up and improve performance with exercise. But water alone won't help you.

Now, Alan, tell me one thing; If you assume that water helps you lose weight, but somehow it isn't working, how is going to add calories to that water (I.e: Honey) help?

You know what's funny? only on this week, you are the third... errmm... "user" with this kind of behavior... (I.e: Posting incoherent responses, dubious advice, vague general advice known by everybody, posting off-topic and resurrecting old threads only to post with one or more of the aforementioned patterns.)

Aren't coincidences like this one simply amazing and mind-blowing?...

If you're talking about consuming nothing but water, then no. You will experience initial weight loss but will gain it back, and more, once you start eating again. You will also damage your health.

drinking 8-10 glass of water helps to reduce weight .drinking plenty of water is such a nice and brilliant idea to increase the calcium in the body

Water is good for health. There is no connection between water and weight loss. In fact too much of water consumption could lead to water intoxication.
You can try lemon tea, lemonade, green tea. The bottom line is to replace the mentioned beverages for dairy beverages.

There is a definite connection between water and weight loss. And to end up with water intoxication, you would have to ingest an extremely high amount of water. There is no way you can do that accidentally.
And what's that about dairy? Makes no sense whatsoever. And why replace perfectly good water with sugary lemonade?

Drink a glass of water a half hour before you eat and you will usually get full on less food. Add a lemon to your water when drinking during your meal. Fresh lemon water will test acidic before you drink it but will become alkaline during digestion. It's best to drink purified water.
