Does how much you sweat determine how much you lose?

Hi, I've been working out lately, and I've noticed that on some days of doing cardio, I sweat a lot, but on some days, I don't sweat as much. Considering it's the same type of cardio exercise, the same amount of time, same calories burnt and same weather temperature, is sweating an only sign of weight loss? I don't know why some days I sweat and some days I don't.

Sweating is just your body's way of cooling itself. It doesn't necessarily have a direct influence on how much weight you lose. The weight loss primarily comes from water (urinating) and carbon dioxide (exhaling) which are products of calories being burned by your body.

Sweating has NOTHING to do with weight loss ... except in that you're losing some water via sweating which might temporarily affect the scale. Sweating is not an indicator of level of exertion or any other thing that affects fat loss.

Oh, so that's why drinking a lot of water helps you lose weight, I believe?

Not really. When your body is burning calories, water is a product of this reaction so it needs to leave your system eventually. While drinking plenty of water is good for you, it won't make the scale move faster by itself.

Drinking water helps you lose weight in a lot of ways.

I'm going to go drink a cup now. :)
