Do they still sell these?

I was thinking of adding resistence like ankle weights to my cycling routine, do they still sell them? if so as I remember they were pretty bulky, anyone have a recommendation of adding to my routine.

40 miles three days on 1 day off
was going to add free weights but don't get the rush from it, hence the adding of the ankle weights if available still. Nothing much to share just love biking, after 2 months of biking and 18 pounds lighter becoming more and more addicted to the rush and satisfaction lvl when my workout is over.:drool5:

They still sell them -but I'mnot sure it's the wisest thing to do -

Orthopedists strongly suggest that a person not add weights to their walking/running routines - even though there's amanufacturer or two that sells weights for that purpose because ti throws off your natural alignment when you move and can cause problems for you down the road.

I'd be wary of adding weights to cycling and instead use a seperate weight training program

Yes, they still sell ankle weights. I have a pair of 10lbs ankle weights. But yes, they are VERY bulky. I never use them for cardio. I'm confused as to why you would want to do this though. If you want more resistence you could go up a hill or something.

lol well that idea was shot down pretty quickly. I do indoor cycling, and the bike set-up I use does not have a incline option to recreate a hill. I am just nervous of hitting a stale mate in the future, was trying to think of something to spice things up...

I agree with the idea to not use them. Can't you set the resistance on your bike higher? I would recommend investing in a Spinning bike (if you don't already have one). They are far superior to conventional statoinary bikes in terms of feel, ride, benefits, etc.
