I work well i sat on my butt all day long i kind of notice that i got some flat spot there... grrrr

I'm certianly not any sort of expert on this, though yes drinking water can make you hevier. If you drink a 16 oz. (1 pound) water bottle, you'll gain a pound, and if you're drinking 5 or more a day, that could explain your recent weight increase. Many people have their weight flucuate a few pounds under or over their normal, and some don't seem to realize that food itself makes you havier as it's inside you.

Hi there I know it can be depressing but sometimes results take time to show.
I beleive you do have to count calories, cause somthing you might think is good for you could end up being very high in calories. Have you tried eating fruits when you are craving surgar??? I find that helps. Do you always weight at the same time cause that could have an impact, if you eat a lot of salt that could impact it too. When it rains outdoor I run up and down the stair as my cardio work out also weight lifting is good cause it helps you build muscles. Keep in mind the weigh didn't pile on in one day so it will take even longer to come off, you have to make this weigh loss part of a new lifestyle cause if you are just gonna be strict until you loose the weight you want to loose and then go back to your former lifestyle it's gonna comme back. Good luck to you!

Take it in little steps and if cycling is not possible then find something else to do- don't use it as an excuse to not cycle this week- many people I know will cycle in the rain and just take a change of clothes with them, it is possible. If your dedicated to exercise you will become inventive and find another way to move around more. Its not impossible its just tricky and takes some more preplanning- don't give up!

If your concerned about what your eating then do change this- you will need to anyway. I am young and have been even younger whilst trying to lose weight. Junk food, refined foods and empty calorie foods were never in the equation. They have to go, weather or not you exercise.

Don't just take one idea and run with it, take a few, change your mentality to exercise and in addition to your food intake. Make sure your diet is well balanced, healthy and praticle. It will need to change if its not anyway, diet and exercise go hand in hand, you cannot really get as good a result with just one instead of the other and remember that if you do chose to change, the changes will need to remain for good or all your hard work will be erased. Make sure your aware of this when cycling, you will need to keep it up all year unless your happy with regaining all your weight everytime the weather gets wetter. Make sure you have a long term exercise habit that is felxible and easy to take part in. Being realistic is very important here.

To be very specific about your diet, yes you are going to have to start counting calories. Weight loss or weight gain is 90% nutrition. Use the BMR calculator on this site to figure out your basal metabolic rate. If you are exercising 3x per week, multiply that number by 1.375. That's how many calories you need to maintain your current weight. Since you are not looking to maintain, subtract 300-400 calories from this. That final number is your calorie goal for the day. Split it into 5 small meals and if possible try to get you calories from 20-25% protein, 50-55% carbs, and 20% healthy fats. Although it may not be the easiest time to do it, performing your cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will garnish quicker results. Let me know if you have more specific questions.

Hi, i really never taught that water would make you gain weight... i taught that it clean your system...hum...

honestly, you're probably not exercising enough per day, and the junk food isn't helping either.

Yes i really think you are right about not exercising enough and the junk... i have a hard time to stop that...

This monday coming up i will start biking... i a bit sceard because i did not bike for a while except in the house but i don't want to put too much strain on my heart and lungs... its 16.5 km i think one way! I will leave earlyer for the first week or so and take it slower!

I am trying to take the stair at work now its 87 steps... when i get to the 5th floor i can't speak... but that was too much so now i go up to the 3 floor walk the the floor and go back to the other end to the stair and do 2 more floors...

I will probably bike for 5 days a week, so do i still multiply that number by 1.375. So it would be ?????

I am not sure if i will be able to bike on a empty stomac for 1:30 to get to work.. i might fell pretty week after that????

I think your mis understanding the basal calorie intake. Go to and theres more explained on there ;)

I'd not worry too much about the empty stomach thing- its not going to matter either way but just try not to work out within an hour of eating as it can feel a bit harder as food needs time to digest and settle. I get a stitch if I workout within 20 mins of eating but also could never in my wildest dreams/nightmares workout on an empty stomach, I think I'd not work as hard as for me anyway mornings are not good- I just can't move as fast and get cramp alot yet come 5pm I have the energy to rival a duracell bunny! Its an individual thing, maybe test a few things out and see what works for you. Some like the morning others like me are better at exercise in the evening. Its just part of being an individual.

Where the water is concerned, please don't think that its putting actual body weight on, its just giving your body the fluids to work properly. The fact your body has quite willingly taken on this water shows that you need it, if you didn't need the fluids you'd quite likely have pee'd it all out by now. Water is essential for all your organs, from the waste in your liver (the toxins get flushed out and water is essential for that) to your muscles which need water to work. Lack of water may also make you feel hungry as its easy to misread thirst as hunger and make dieting even harder then it already is.

Please don't cut down on drinking water, and please don't focus too much on body weight, also use other 'markers' such as measurements and dress sizes. As you exercise you build muscle, water actually is in these muscles and helps them to exist, you need muscle to help you lose fat (more muscle = more power to burn excess calories from fat and also more calries are required to maintain the muscle) water isn't sitting on your belly looking like fat, its in your organs making them work properly an helping you lose weight.

Ok! maybe i will like eat a banana or something like that 1 hrs before i bike...
and will continue drinking my water 8 glass a day this is not too much, right?

I will try not to jump on the scale... i go there almost everyday to see.. i guess i should not... I should mesure my body with the mesuring tape? to mesure your waist its just under your betty bottom right i never know...???? but you do this what once a month...!!!!

I look at the site you send me ... it bring me to a page but from there there is so many info i not sure which one to use???? Yes i guess i don't understant what (I WALK ALONE ) was saying... sorry i am really french and it take me time to master all of this...lol.... oups...:p

cut down junk foods and sweets. these are the reasons why you're having a hard time losing weight. a daily exercise routine should be helpful if you consider doing it with motivation. one thing more, i believe that as we aged, our metabolism slows down, so that could be another reason.

Yes i know i got to cut the junk but i find it hard i get very bad sweet craving and i wonder why!!!!

Could it be that i don't eat enough in a day? To loose weight do you really have to count all your calories..?

One of my friend told me that i should try Weight Watcher, but i am kind of worry with that i know some people who were on it and as soon as they stop counting the point they were allouw in a day they start gaining weight....

It's good that you are taking balanced diet but with that you are saying that you are also taking junk foods if possible avoid it don't take too much junk food and beverages take lime water and juice instead of cold drinks. Do exercise regularly.

I think it's time for you to stop eating junk food and concentrate on eating healthy food. Also minimize eating sweets.
