decrease in strength as a result of laughing.

This should be on Myth Busters or somthin. I beleive its true that if you have just got done laughing and proceed to exercise, it is harder to finish your set. Its happened to me and my friends. Is it because of lower concentration levels or what?..or am I just crazy?

Ha you know few days ago i was doing a barbell bicep curl while my friend was talking, they let out the most massive fart and i swear it took everything i had to keep pumping that thing up cause we were laughing so hard. I walked away, took a drink of water, re-focused and was fine afterwards. It just goes to show though how much of weightlifting is mental.

Yep. I've gone through the same thing. Once I almost dropped the barbell because my friend made me laugh so hard, I punched him for making me laugh so hard after. :p

And yep. It's all in your head. Laughing takes your mind off of most things, lifting is one of them.

Laughing induces a production of Serotonin the "happy" hormone, which in turn gives you energy. But, I suppose all the work your lungs do during laughing could hurt your weight lifting ability...I think?

oh ya man weve all been there, myself on several occasions..one in particular that sticks out, i was actually working out with 225 on the bench, was pushin it up, spotter said something, i cracked up, and basically dropped it about a foot...
