cutting supplements

I got to where I wanted to be for the summer, 160lbs (5'8).. Ive been cutting down calories to start cutting since the summer is coming up, but I am trying to keep my weight up. I've been continuing to take fishoil, multivitamins, and protein shakes, and started to run and swim more, is there anything else i should be taking or doing? A 6pack would be nice for the summer.

I think he means mantain his current muscles but drop in bf%

However confused you are about what you wish to accomplish (or we are lol) you are fine with the supplements you are taking. If you wanted to add anything perhaps go with a multi mineral also. There are fat mobilizers that some people swear by, and others say are a waste of money. I don't think they could hurt anything but your bank account if you wanted to try those as well.

As far as your workouts, I do not belive you mentioned weight training in your routine. Hit the weights man, thats essential in my opinion.

I need a few weeks before I can comment about a new type of fat burning supplement that arrives at my doorstep today.

yeah im just trying to lower body fat. tryin to get the 6pack. i currently lift about 5 days a week and try and run or swim at least 3 times a week.

It may not be to much lifting. Post your workouts so we can see the program. You only need rest between days if you are training the same muscle groups.

yeah, but its also hard to lift 'every day' and maintain the proper intensity, plus not overlap any muscle groups....and even then if you haven't reached a more advanced level of weight training, then its not really wise to break it down that far.
90% of amature trainee's should never go beyond a 3 day split (push/pull/legs split).
the other 10% are super hardcore, or trying to become pros, and they've advanced to a stage of daily training, organized by individual bodyparts. They also tend to be 'enhanced'.

It is easier to lift with proper intensity since there is less to focus on in the workout.

Yet many do and have great results. Saying that 90% of amateurs should do push/pull/legs split is like saying 90% of people like cake better than ice cream. Many of your "amateurs" will respond better to more frequent workouts.

Training more frequently allows for shorter workouts, useful for people who have less time.

Training more frequently increases basic work capacity, which aids the recovery process.

Training more frequently increases metabolism more days per week and will be useful for people who are trying to cut bodyfat. (since metabolism after strength training is increased for at least 45 min and as long as 2 hours in some people.)

Some people enjoy training more days per week, it can keep them consistent and keep them from falling off the wagon, keeping fitness part of the daily routine.

I guess I am just saying that all people are different. Putting 90% of them into a certain type of workout seems like we are ignoring how different people respond to workouts.
