I did pretty well last night, considering it was New Years eve. I didn't drink any soda or alcohol. The soda was by choice, but the alcohol was on recommendation by the doctor. Had a blood test a couple weeks ago and my liver levels were very very slightly elevated so my doc said to avoid alcohol and acetomenaphin until I get a second test in a couple days. I skipped dinner to make sure I had room for party food and managed to be calorie neutral, even if I didn't manage a deficit. I was the only non-drinker, but it was mostly just nice to bring in the new year with my friends.
I had an idea today that I think will help me avoid cravings. I got a notebook and I'll write reasons I should make a good choice rather than a bad one. For example, tonight I made spaghetti and I ate a reasonable portion for dinner and then put the leftovers in the fridge. A few minutes ago I was really tempted to get in there and eat more spaghetti, but I got my notebook and wrote, "I won't eat the spaghetti because I am full." It helped. I hope it helps longterm.
