Confused - this article

What are you opinions on this german training style program, basically its a superset program. It says he made them gains in 14 weeks? it seems hard to believe what do you lot think?

if that is real and thats the case I certainly will add a superset fashion to my plan.

comments plz

extra question, does that no rest between intervals mean between the sets? or between the next exercise?
eg

A = no rest between its sets or no rest between exercise b?

B

I dont think its possible to go from dat outta shape guy to dat buff in 14 weeks. Secondly dat is clearly not him. He just decided to shave his head for his new "look." I think those pictures are of Vin Diesel.

This is what I've learned. You can do any workout routine any way you want. You can do any exercise you want. If you feel sore the next day, you've accomplished your goal. So do supersets, or dont do them. All you can do is work da muscles til they're sore.

OH YEAH I forgot to put this in. Da guy in da second pic has impressive abs. This workout routine doesnt even touch abs. So how'd he get them? magic?

The workout does include abs on day 2, although the author recommends tailoring this to personal preference with a link of recommendations.

I just recently got back into lifting and am thinking of giving this a try. Obviously im not going to do dieting/supplements to his extent but do my best

its definately possible for him to make gains like that, just not very likely...i would say that GVT is one of the more well respected methods for mass gain. you may not make that kind of improvement, but it will probably do something.

Exe...In a post on GVT training Mogwai told you that he is a well known coach. Now another thing that she failed to mention is that she knows him personally and spent time at the same university and has seen the results first hand. Now with the amount of supplements he took... everything is possible. Not saying I would do it but....think about it.

Just wanted to add the following: DIET is the basis of any training program. Or you could use nutrition.

An interesting article to read is this one at t-mag.com

Thx for all your replies, it appears the article is valid by the looks of the orginal article and its step by step explanation, just want one more thing finalising.

Supersets - I know its when U go from 1 set straight to another but.................

is it 5 sets of 5, no rest so technically ur doing 25 none stop?

or is it 5 sets 5 , rest but on ur last set do the next exercise straight after with no 2 min rest? not sure clarify it someone for me :]

Exe,

Example of supersets in this program are as follows:

A1 - Benchpress: Do 5 REPS
no rest
A2 - Flat dumbbell flies: 5 REPS
rest for 2 minutes

This completes 1 SET. Continue this progression until you have completed 5 sets then move on to the next superset.

Good luck with the program.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm also wondering what they mean by tempo. it couldnt be the same as tempo musically cause some of those would be 640 reps per minute :p (newbie)

BTW, can get someone really results like his that fast without roids?

I swear those are pics of Vin Diesel. and if it isn't he should be his stunt double or something ;)

Tempo is referring to the eccentric portion of the lift, rest, concentric portion of the lift.

For example:
A2: Flat dumbbell flies, Tempo of 602

This means that it will take 6 seconds to lower the weight. No rest at the bottom of the motion, then take 2 seconds to raise the weight. (602 = 6 seconds, 0 seconds, 2 seconds)

The second exercises are meant to be very slow with much lighter weight than you would normally use. It is extremely important to check your ego at the door. The first exercise in the superset allows you to go all out. Lift heavy on the first exercise - of course without sacrificing form - then make sure to use a weight light enough on the second exercise to complete the 5 reps at the proper tempo.

I believe anthing is possible if you are dedicated to your diet and routine (probably in that order). It takes a tremendous amount of discipline to do, but I know it's possible without "gear".

I swear that guy really isn't Vin Diesel.:D

Exe - I was waiting for that.:)

I just really enjoyed the program and thought I'd share it with the community in the GVT thread. I think it's easy and effective. Try it and let me know how you like it.

That IS Vin Deisel lol, its a joke
