Confessions of a food Junkie

Yea I love those lightbulb moments because it is then that I realize that I am changing my life because I have new thinking!

OK...I gotta confess...I couldn't resist the calls from my scale....well it was good news...I am down to 320 lbs! YESSSSSS. I am sooooo pumped. I think I just needed that. Now that I did my scale cheat, I have decided to weigh in on fridays.

Now if I add intentional exercise I know I will lose my 2 lbs a week for sure!

I will remind myself to thank god for this site in my prayers tonight because with this support system I finally feel like I am the one in control and that I can do this all the way! No turning back for this chick!

Is'nt it sucha great feeling to know what you are doing - is actually working :)

congrats on the pounds lost... now MOVE THAT TICKER!!! :D (I love saying that - i'm so bossy :)

Hi Kallie!
Great diary entries! Regarding your mom, I firmly believe that a person has to conclude for him/herself to change his/her life. I would love for my dh to join me on becoming healthier, but he's in complete denial. We even checked out our life expectancies. At my current weight, I would live to 91 (barring any accidents), his life expectancy is 65 or so and it goes way up if you just change the weight. Sad, huh? He still doesn't want to change.

Anyhow, regarding the diet soda. I read an article that explained it that the pancreas processes artificial sweeteners in the same way it does sugar. I don't recall how that works exactly, but it concluded that drinking the diet soda was altogether worse for you than regular sugar soda.

Go Belly Busters!!!!

First of all congratulations on the loss...that is awesome!!! Second, add some tuna to that lunch...girl, you need some protein and a whole can of solid white albacore tuna is like 195 calories.

And lastly, you are beautiful!!!!!! And what's with all the folks on this forum reminding me of old and dear friends. I was just telling M2M that she reminds me of two friends and you remind me of another one. Must be why I feel so close to all of you.

Hope you have a great evening.

TM ~ thanks I need more of that for motivation. I am for sure going for the evening walk!!!!!!! I just have a hard time in the mornings but that is why it is a goal of mine to get past that.

MO2 ~ Yea I really have had to realize that about my mom. I am doing all I can and now the rest is up to the rest of my family to decide if they want to come along for the ride or stick with their same ol same ol.

Manaloa ~ Thanks. This forum is a god send I swear!

Scarlett ~ Thanks for the info on diet pop. I guess it makes sense that my body wouldn't make a difference between real sugar and fake sugar. Thank you for the compliment. *blush*

Nonfood rewards are great ideas... my reward after my next 20lbs is gone is 6pair of expensive hot underwear, lol...

Jess ~ That is totally awesome. Make sure you get some frilly lacy ones LOL

Well did some house work...mainly folding and putting away laundry and I managed to work up a sweat (plus its hot in here..no A/C)

Just figuring out what I'm going to make for supper.

Frig I've peed about a million times today....I only need 16 more oz to make my 80 oz daily quota.....lol and last night...swear to god that I was up 7 times. Oh well I do what I gotta do and it's working so I'll keep doing it.:)

Hey Kallie,

Just stopped by to say job well done on the two pound loss. Keep it up!!! :D

I've been horrible today, but I'm going to forget about that for now and start again tomorrow.

Once again, good job on the loss!!!!

BTW, I also wanted to commend you for the reward you gave to your son, you are really trying to break the cycle and I think that's a wonderful start. I'm very happy you made that wise choice ;)

Bonnie

That is definately an improvement...I thought there would be with the breakfast added in. I added up the food catagories and I think I am right on!
I got 6 servings of veggies/fruits, 2 milk servings, 2 Meat and meat alternative servings, 4 grain servings and only 2 other servings. I feel good about this.

I am currently getting ready to go for my evening walk and that way the snack fairy can't bother me lol. I will be pooped when I get home and ready for some ZzzZZZzzzz's.

OK,

I'm back from my walk. My hubby estimated that we walked about a mile or so in about 25 minutes. This was my "test" run.I gotta find my step counter.
I sure did work up a good sweat.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but the terrain we were walking on was like 5% grass, 7% pavement, 88% gravel/dirt road. I start by my house on path, walk across some grass to get to the dirt road and then walk in a tract shaped dirt road until we end up back at my house. I plan to double this and walk for an hour or do it as many times as I can in one hour.

Awesome job, Miss Kallie!

I hate walking! but I have big bony skinny feet so that doesn't help either. I like how you are so detailed about what you eat! I just eat a bunch of low carb stuff- I should keep track... WAY TO GO!!

-K-

Hi Kallie :)

Just stopped by to extend my forum love and support. You're in good hands here and I think you pretty well know that by now ;)

Stay true to yourself, expect boo-boo's and move on, be creative and avoid boredom in your diet. I like to compensate seasonings and flavor in exchange for larger portions.

Keep your pace, but consider doing smaller steps in your exercise until you 'get your feet under you'. A one hour walk (this soon) could cost you 3 days off from soreness when you're not use to it whereas 3 or 4 more days at 25-30 minutes and adding 5 minute intervals over the next 6 weeks could benefit you better.

Be patient and fighting the good fight will become a pleasure instead of a chore.

NP ~ Thanks for stopping by my diary! I like to keep track of my food strictly because it helps me not to snack or over eat.

Hey Trucker,

thanks for stopping by in my diary!!!!!!!

I really appreciate your words of wisdom!

I've actually never thought of exercise as a chore. Once I get that *poke* to get going I LOVE it. I love to sweat, I love to feel sore. I just love it. It makes me feel great!

That being said I wouldn't want to get hurt, so thanks for the advice.

It's so funny because I always have this urge to go faster and harder and I want to run. Unfortunately, I am far from *running* but I'll get there.

My goal to train for a tri-atholon (sp??) is one of my biggest. I want to just complete the first one and then move up in the ranks. Then I would absolutely LOVE to take some hip-hop classes.

I have made plans to start using the gym at my school since I pay for it in my tuition start fall. I will go mon, wed, and fridays for an hour or two. I'm going to look into a personal trainer session.....My biggest fear about that is being too heavy to use some of the exercise equipment:eek: .

I also am worried about people being mean to me or looking down on me. I just have to get over this NOW because I've let my fear of other people keep me in this box and I'm done with that. I guess if they don't like what they see, then don't look!:p

You got it girl - if they don't like it, they can look anywhere else they please.

I look at people walking/running/cycling by me every day at all levels of weight and fitness, and all I can think of is GOOD FOR THEM!! They're up and moving - they're doing what they need to do to get fit!

That's a far cry from where I was at one point, chowing down a can of pringles ;)

You are doing great and have made such a good step forward in taking control of your life. That is a lot to be proud of!
