Club starting Wed Sept 7...

Hey... I'm going to try to lose 5 lbs in 2 weeks beginning this wednesday... anyone up for joining me? If you are, on Wed. post your starting weight, what your goal is, what your plan for diet/exercise/etc is, and what kind of encouragement that you need... then we'll all try to keep one another sticking to the plan...

I say we need to do more than just SAY we will check up on each other. I think we need some system. Like assign buddies or something. its just so easy to sit back and think, well, i'm sure someone else is checking up on everyone. What do you think?
 
I think it would be good to have groups of three so that way, if someone can't be on for a day, there is still someone left to encourage you...

How about I keep a list of who all signs up and then on Wednesday morning, I'll post it with the groupings... I don't want to make the list now and have others join and not feel like they are a part of it... so look for buddy pairings on Wed. morning!!!

i dont really know how i lost those 3 pounds the last club thingy since i was barely exercising and also had my period which thankfully ended before weigh in day! i wrote this in my diary, but what i think did it was green tea and L-tyrosine since those were the only 2 things i have added (done differently) in the past couple weeks.
 
To whoever ends up being my partner:

I'm not sure if the lists will be posted when I check in the morning before school. If they aren't then I will get in touch with you, hopefully after school, if not, then definitely after band.

Tomorrow I have School from 7-2, XC from 2-5 and Band from 6-9, such a fun schedule.

I promise I will help you through though :-D

I'm really excited for this, this way, I can't quit!

Here are some tips to keep us all going strong even if we eat out !!!!

~ Look for special branding and signage on menus to identify low-fat, low-carb, or special diet items.
~ Order all sauces, gravies, and dressings on the side.
~ Ask about portion sizes prior to ordering. If you think it may be too much, there are some alternatives: 1) Order the same item as an appetizer if available, 2) Split the order with a dining companion, 3) Request a “to go” container when you order, then place half the portion aside before you start your meal.
~ Look on the menu for the terms broiled and baked. These cooking methods are lower in fat and calories than fried and sautéed dishes.
~ If you are eating at the buffet, select items for your meal ahead of time. There’s no rule that says you must fill your plate!
~ Ask the waitstaff to remove your plate as soon as you are full to avoid temptation.
~ Try to get a vegetable or salad with your sandwich or entrée instead of fries.
