Clean Diet? What is it?

I will do that but my caloric intake now is 1800..so i should lower it too about 1600 maybe?? Okay this week I'm gonna eat chicken and fish for dinner Sound okay? Then hey how bout this do u know the in the freezer isles at the grocery store were u can get this Vegtables and chicken mixed together Its called VIOLA or something like that i get the kinda of Garden Vegtable mix and CHicken are they bad to eat? OH yea not to get you off track or anything i cant eat a baked potato for dinner?? What kind of potato can i have..i dont like sweet potatos?

you sure you odnt like sweet potatoes? i usually eat mine baked, with a little light butter ( the kind with mono/polyunsat fat in it, my mom gets it so iuno ) and some cinammon sprinkled on, mmmm soo good. of course with a peice of chicken. i dont know how well butter goes in with your diet though, so...

i guess i could try to bake one sometime, but i dont ever eat butter in mine i grown out of liking butter in most of my foods...i like just dicing up my baked potato putting some pepper on it and mixing it with a veggie and eating it with my chicken of FISHH i love fish lol

for the VIOLA, you want to avoid packaged meals as much as possable, even the healthyist will not be as good as making it from scratch. but if you don't want to do that, the healthyer the better. look at the Ingredience and it's sorta easy to figue out with one is better. potatoes are great, anykind. I like mine with olive oil, cottage cheese or mixed with otherthings.

Manderus, I can see how serious you are about losing weight, being meticulous about this whole process and all.

It's not that baked potato is bad. I'm just saying you're consuming too much carbs and calories from dinner (especially, if you're trying to lose weight).

I guess it all depends on this... How fast do you want to lose weight? How much weight do you want to lose? Also, what do you do for cardio and weight training?

I dont do weight training, there is no gym around where i live like an hour away maybe...lol dont think im dumb or anything but what does meticulous mean??
For my cardio i run about 2.5 miles a day it all adds up to 30 minutes then i do situps crunches and all of them..then at school when i have gym i work really hard in that..

why on earth would anyone think you're dumb? lol

this thread is awesome! i love the 4 easter eggs thing! classic!

as for weight training - buy yourself a pair of dumbells

Kwan, her intake at 1800 is ideal, she was eating WAY less than that. I finally got her eating what she needed for her weight. Her problem is overtraining (running 3 miles every day) and no weight training. The only other thing Im not sure about is her portion size, but we can't see that over the net.

i dont run 3 miles a day only 2.5 to be precise or however u spell it lol. I only run that much on the gazelle i usually run just 1.5 or 2 outside. When i start my job this week and get a good 60 bucks ill go buy some dumbells or whatever. At night time my portion size is bigger than the rest of the day's i usually only have like 1 chicken breast and a baked potato and lots of veggies but idk how many maybe a cup of each heck if i know lol

Just wondering, how do you know how many calories is ideal? I've looked on the net and found loads of different answers and tried calculators which have all told me something different so right now I'm on 1500-1600 daily and just playing it by ear. Can it really be as simple as what weight you are? And is it current weight or leab body weight? Don't you have to take into account your metabolic rate and ... stuff?

One calculation told me I needed 1200 per day (to lose weight)!! EEEK! Other have told me as much as 1000 more than that. I just don't know.

ive seen 18xbody weight = caloric intake. so for 150lb, that would be roughyl 2700cal.
this is for bulking. you want around 20-30% less than your maintenance level. the average level for people is around 2000. but there is no good way to find out but one way to figure it out is to keep a calorie intake journal for 5-7 days. If your weight stays constant, then you simply divide the total calories consumed by the number of days and you’ll get your daily intake. there is no good way to find out online thats 100% accurate so it's a guesstimation anywhere you go.

Manderus, what was your caloric intake before you switched it up to 1800? Dun tell me it was like ~1300 and u still didn't lose weight...

Also, how many lbs do you want to lose? ~10? ~15? ~20? ~40?

well, say i'm eating 1500 per day - how do i know that's not putting my body into starvation mode? is 1500 calories too high to be in starvation mode?

Aight. I'm no expert, but give this a try...

First of all, since you r not really "fat," keep in mind that it'll be harder for you to lose weight.

Secondly, 1600 or 1800, they're about the same. Keep it at 1300 cal. Eat 5 meals of around 250 cal's. Healthy or not, you seem to eat too much for dinner. Keep it down to chicken breast and some veggies. You should feel a bit hungry all day. NEVER eat until you are full. Make sure you eat FIVE times per day though, k? Dun starve all day and binge for one meal or something.

Thirdly, increase your cardio intensity. You shouldn't be able to speak a full sentence at that intensity. Try to say "I am going to lose weight." If you need to gasp for air like couple times before you can say the whole thing, that's about the right intensity.

Lastly, you need to do some muscle training. U gotta work your muscles if u wanna keep ur weight off once u attain the desired weight. If you can't go to the gym, then stay home and do push ups, pull ups, etc. Do three sets of each. For each set, do as many as u can until you possibly can't do anymore. Each day, you should try to do more than u did the day before.

Try that for a few days. You should see results. Let me know how it goes. ;)

I'll try that and I'll let you know about how it is going around next tueday okay? Does this mean on saturday i cant have my cheat meal? *Snicker Easter Eggs*

I know what Mandy weighs, I know her height, I also know how old she is. Her maintenance number is 2300 calories, 1600-1800 for fat loss. She was eating WAY less than 1200 from what I can gather.

If your that concerned with losing weight Mandy, forget the cheat meals. I don't know how I can make this any clearer to you. Your doing something wrong, no amount of running or eating salads is going to help you. I've given you all the things I do that make me lose weight (its obvious it works, at least for me), whether your doing them or not, I can't tell.

Neenaw, it is that easy. Once you know your basal metabolic rate and make some adjustments for your activity level, you can determine how much you need to eat.

Allen, I commend you on your patience and clarity. I'm glad you're there to help mandy out and straighten things out with everyone else.
