Clean and Jerk

WOW!

um, I have been doing, well one time, a power clean, and then pressing it up above my head.

then I went to this video, and well... um,, uh... oh boy.

if I use the resources I have been given, I will probably do muych better.

and I'd like to ask you Georgen, how often do you end up letting that weight just go right on over and land behind you?

I'm currently working on re-learning the jerk part :D It's a fun exercise.. getting the weight up there - OK, now how the hell do I get it down? :p

if you do clean jerk and your gym allows to drop the weight, then it's no problem. but doing just jerks/push press, the biggest problem is getting the weight down. You just gotta let it hit the rack (shoulders) and absorb the impact with your legs, but when you're at the 3d rep you're tired, you can't breathe properly due to the weight either being on your shoulders restricting your breath or you have to be stabilizing it over your head... it just sucks :(

I recon id be allowed to drop the weight, but i just dont like drawing too much attention to myself.

On the squat rack tho, the rack for the bar is height adjustable, so i could just move it up really high so i can lower the bar onto that........maybe :)

Not often. You will find that you will lose it much more easily to the front. :D

on the power cleans I've been doing, the negative pull on my upper traps as I let it down is intense.

as I have watched the video more and more with sound, I see that the power clean is skipped if I get that pushoff/spring with my hip thigh. Or do you recommend stopping at the neck level on all lifts.

I really like it when he sayd "THE KING OF ALL LIFTS" for when you really want to knwo how strong an athlete is.

I'll get the 400 by next month now.

THE KING OF ALL LIFTS!!!

like - "The Ironman is ""the ultimate test of the complete athlete,"" considering the speed endurance, and athletic skill requirement thru multiple discipline."

OH wait- Ironman is taking 2 years comittment :( Well..... how about you be the strong guy, and if anybody tries to get away I will chase them down and hold them until you get there!

what a team!
