Well I want to start this by telling alittle bit about myself. I am 32, a single mom, and work in the healthcare feild while going to school for nursing. I have been over weight my whole life, ever since I was in late elementary. Feb. 2007 I had my gallbladder removed. Since then I have had stomach issues and have lost some weight because of it, but not that much. About July 2008 (3 months ago) I started changing my life. I started by cutting out all pop (I had a very large Diet Pepsi addiction) I have only had water with the exception of about 3 pops and 3 or so Ice teas.

Once I did that I started to loose weight, and that got me started. I started paying attention to what I put in my mouth. Since July 2008 I have lost 30 lbs and couldn't be happier. I have lost it the healthy way! I have excersied a couple of times, but need to get going and do it alot more and I am sure I will lose it faster and get more toned. I started out at my highest weight ever in Feb. 2007 at 255, and today I hit a huge milestone, I am for the first time in over 12 years in the 100's. Today I hit 199! I have gotten so much motivation since loosing a little weight, now I am ready to do this for life. I have tried several diets and they just do not work! I have done Atkins and I lost about 45 lbs. As soon as I stopped the strict plan I gained it all back and then some. This time I am loosing it for good.

So today I am starting this diary today and not looking back. If you have any comments and / or constructive criticism please feel free to post.
 
Ok, I am starting this today as a daily or weekly diary (hopefully).

Today was an interesting day. My daughter had surgery today to get her tonsils and adnoids removed. We woke up early and I weighed myself. I was so excited, finally after over 12 years I am under 200 lbs. It feels great.

My two bosses and I have always been about the same weight / size. Over the last couple months I along with 1 of those bosses have been loosing weight. My other boss hasn't seen me in a while (couple weeks) and today when I was at the Hospital for my dd's surgery my boss didn't even know it was me getting a water at the coffee shop. She was amazed. It made me feel so good.

This week I bought a size 14 jeans! I started out in August wearing a size 20. 3 sizes down in less then 3 months!

So today I have been sitting around most of the day, making sure my dd is ok, and paying close attention to her because of the surgery. But I have had 3 bottles of water so far (50.7oz) So I am just drinking more and I have to figure out what to make for dinner. Maybe a fruit smoothie and some protien.

I will post tomorrow. I have a busy day. I have 3 dr's appointments and work, plus my dd's recovery. Should be interesting:seeya:
 
Friday 10/17/08

Today was an ok day. I had to work, I went to a training class at work for 4 hours and then my regular stuff the rest of the day. I went to my first Physical Theropy appointment today, for upper back and neck issues, I am in more pain now then I was before and they didn't seem to do much, so I will have to talk to them about this.

animal crackers for breakfast (I was at a class for work and that was the healthest thing they had)
Salad and a cup of mixed veggies for lunch
Apple for snack
2 scrambled eggs with cut up green pepper for Dinner.
Large Green Tea, only 2 16.9 bottles of water today, not my norm, and 1/2 cup cranberry juice.

Daughter is at Grandmas for the night, so I'm not doing much, think I will go to bed soon, and try to get up and take the dog for a walk tomorrow morning. I am not supossed to do any excersising in the next month but I don't think that will hurt. I did do a mile on the exercise bike at Phys. Therapy today in less then 10 min which was good, at least I'll get some sort of exersise. I have to go 3 days a week so it's a start.

I will be researching healthy eating alot in the next couple of days. I have some basics, but I really don't think I'm eating enough some days. I put everything into Fitday and I am way below on calories. So if anyone has any good sites to get information about how much: protien, fat, carbs, calories I should be eating please let me know.
