ok.. so I was on this site in 2008 and found it very helpful.. I met a few great friends and it really helped hold me accountable so here I am.... AGAIN!

2010 was a tough year for me with some family issues going on that were very stressful and I really let myself go.. I ate what i wanted and hardly worked out at all...:nopity:

2011 I really want to focus on myself and do a lot of things that I have been putting off for awhile. I am going to finish college, get in shape and hopefully save some $$ for a new car :) I am excited about all of these changes and can't wait to make some great friends on here to help me meet my fitness goals!

A little about me.. I am 25..soon to be 26. I am not over weight but I am not happy with my body and know that it can not only look much better but that I can feel much better and more confident. I have high expectations for myself and dont want to settle for ok.. I want to look my best!

I am 5'9'' and weigh 165 lbs. I am not so concerned with the number but know that I looked and felt much better at 145. I am here to get the support I need to take those 20 lbs back off and get back in the best shape of my life..

A little about how I got here.. I love food.. I am addicted I guess you could say.. not to the point where I binge but I eat to eat.. I don't have to be hungry I just love the taste of food! I need to learn to control these feelings and eat for energy and not just eat for fun... Today i started a food journal which I will try to share on here every once in awhile.

My goal is to maintain a 1500 calorie diet while working out 4-6 times a week. Lately all I have wanted to do is sleep.. I have been extra lazy! I need to snap out of it.

I was thinking that since the Biggest Loser starts tonight I will take the challenge with them! I have signed up on the website for the pound for pound challenge so when i lose my 20 lbs, 20 lbs of food will be donated to my local food shelter.. I am excited about that and since im going to lose the weight regardless i might as well help out right?!

I will weigh in every Tuesday with the Biggest Loser (the morning of the show) and try to go along with them. I know the show will last a few months so that will be a good goal/schedule for me to stick to.

I will post my progress on here a few times a week and will post my weekly BL Challenge progress as well on Tuesdays!

Today is day one.. wish me luck!!

If anyone is interested in doing the Biggest Loser thing with me.. feel free to post in my diary and we can take the challenge together :)

Today was day 1 of KILLER hike and Raw juicing. :) Feeling better about it!

Starting weight-169 lbs as of today. Fak. It's okay. Only downhill from here. (on the scale that is)

I'm glad you reminded me about Biggest Loser tonight! Now that's some inspiration I really needed. Last season I said I was going to do it with them, and bullshit. I didn't do it. This season!! ME AND YOU, KID!!! "Let's work SON!" :grouphug:!
 
Isn't it great? The show its self is kind of awful with all of the product promos and drama but just seeing those contestants who some can barely even walk get on that treadmill and run is so motivating! If they can do it.. I sure can too!

I love the finale how you can't even recognize them and seeing how much happier they are :)

ALTA- I am so ready! We are going to do it this year.. we have been trying to lose weight for 2-3 years now together and this year we are going to stop this battle.. it is ridiculous! no more excuses.. just do it!

As for yesterday I had to majorly cut down on my food intake to get used to eating less again.. I was surprised that I didn't get that hungry until late at night..

Lunch- Turkey and Swiss on Whole Grain Bread

Snack- 2 bowls Special K Cereal

Dinner- Ham and Cheddar Pita

Total 1490 calories.. 10 less than goal!

I need to get to the grocery store to stock up on healthy foods.. For those of you who don't know me yet.. I am a really picky eater which makes it hard for me to stick to a low calorie diet.. I get so sick of eating the same foods that I cave in and start eating the bad stuff just for variety.. I wish that I wasn't so picky.. I am much better than I used to be but i still eat like a 5 year old kid..

Hopefully I can learn how to balance this and come up with some diet that combines all the things I love.
 
Wow!!! Great job on cutting out the crap out of your meals!!

I think what really helps is that you find a Daily Indulgence!
I used to think that it was best for once a week, but WHO AM I KIDDING!? The most of us want something daily.

I was reading that you can actually Grill pineapple and drizzle it with Honey and Cinnamon, and it makes a great snack! Crazy right?! I'm gonna have to try that one.. Can you imagine with a one scoop of whip cream?... HMMMM! :drool5:

But yes, YOU CAN RUN!!! I was watching the episode last night, and I realized that it's just about MOVING! You bet your ass, I got up during the commercials and did like 100 jumping jacks on one, and 57 on another, and then 10 mins of bike while watching. SICK AS HELL TOO! My glands were all pumping like a green beast! LOL!! ;)!

...What I'm getting at is DAILY movement!!! I'm gonna go run right now! The hike from yeseterday is killing me on the legs and LOVE HANDLE section! :blush5:! Gonna start p90x too! Today if God willing.

DAY 2!!!!! FIGHTTTTT!!! :jump:!~

As for today.. I did well but emotionally it was tough..my mom is starting to drag me down again.. I have GOT to learn how to take her stuff in stride and not let it get me down or upset. I just feel like at all times there is HUGE weight on my shoulders and in reality there should not be!! Besides dealing with her issues my life is great and I have no stresses or worries. But every time I talk to her my blood literally boils and I feel like steam comes from my ears...today she called and just cried and cried and cried and told me how stupid I was and to stay out of her life.. and its so hard not to argue back and be like.. you called me, remember?! (I try my HARDEST to be patient with her and help her all I can but I have to have balance.. it can not ruin my life anymore..) She is mentally ill and it is a different challenge everyday.. Her mood and tone changes by the minute and I never know what she is going to be like when I see/talk to her..

Ok enough of that as my heart is racing again just thinking about her..i am constantly worried about her

Today. besides that.. was awesome!

Wednesday is my day off so I really wanted to focus on the things that would make me feel good about myself. I stuck to my calories, went to the gym, cleaned house, and did some reading.. it was nice and relaxing. I love having time to focus on me.. call me selfish!

I even went to the gym twice today! This afternoon I went and did 40 minutes of circuit training.. run 5 min, 15 pushups, 15 squats, 200 jump rope, 20 crunches,20 lunges, 50 jumping jacks... repeat twice.. I got to use my new heart rate monitor which was awesome! It counted my calorie burn too which was useful.. 450 calories in 40 minutes it said..

For my second gym trip I went to a 1 hr belly dance class.. it was not intense by any means but It got my heart rate going a few times and it really worked on balance and body isolation which will help me get toned eventually once I lose a few lbs! I probably burnt about 200-250 calories in the hour class..

As for my food:

Breakfast
1 bowl special K cereal with skim milk (200 calories)
Bottle water (0 calories)

Snack
Clementine(35 calories)

Lunch
Ham and Mozarella on a whole grain thin Crisp (210 calories)
1 serving Tortilla Chip Scoops (150 calories)
Emergen C Vitamin Drink (25 calories)

GYM- 40 min circuit train
2 bottles water (0 calories)

Snack
String Cheese (80 calories)
Edemame (200 calories)

Dinner
2 MorningStar Sausage patties (160 calories)
Blackeyed peas (150 calories)
Frozen Grapes (100 calories)

Gym- 1 hr belly dance
Bottle Water with flavor (10 calories)

Snack
If I have one tonight it will be the rest of my blackeyed peas (150 calories)

1320- 1470
depending on if i eat my snack.. still came in lower than goal!

and i burned 650 calories at the gym :)

WOO cant wait til Tuesdays weigh in.. im kickin butt! :party:
 
:grouphug: :beating: Awww, you little bear!!! I'm so sorry to hear that your mom called you to vent like that. It really is a shitty feeling. Believe me, I know. I've had mom issues forever, except for these last 6 months. It's been so much better!

What always helped me to deal with those disturbing phone calls that my mom would make to me, saying the SAME things that yours does, is that: "She is merely reflecting her inner turmoil out to me yet it has nothing to do with me. When she calls me a bad daughter, it is a way of shifting the blame and guilt that she feels herself as being a bad mother and that's why she vocalizes it to me in that way. Some people speak before they think. Some people don't realize the reprocussion of their words, and that words do HURT." :( I know that. Take a breath. Relax, and realize that you are a GREAT daughter. You have made the best decisions with what you have been handed on your plate. You could do no different, and life will work itself out. To worry I tell myself, is to directly send a message to the Universe and God saying, that I don't believe that you will come through and help the situation. So I choose not to worry. I choose to send the message saying that YES, I do believe that God and the Universe will come through! It will always work out. Some way or another.

I did my 5 mile run, and you are motivating me to do p90x tonight too and copy your twice a day workout. My eating was cleannnnn all day too!! :cheers2: Cheers to us! Can't wait to see the scale on Tuesday too! Just gotta keep it up!!! :)

One question: What is "Clementine"? You eat it for snack I see. LOL!! Love the calorie counting. :beating:

Alta- Thanks for the words! You are so rght about my mom projecting how she feels on to me.. And the result of it is that i start to feel like her, anxious and upset! Its so hard to be supportive when we can't get along and dont agree on things.. There is so much more to the story that complicates it and if she keeps doing what shes doing the whole family will be ruined and torn apart. i don't know how to stop it but at the same time I don't want the reponsiblity of stopping her..Hate to see the way things are going but I'm just not in a position to help right now.. She has dragged me down enough! maybe I just need a small break :)

As for yesterday.. We did good!! I hope you are feeling better!

A Clementine is a small orange with no seeds.. like a tangerine almost.. They are yummy! I buy them by the case here for $6 I can eat 2 a day for a few weeks until I run out.

Today Is date night with Ben.. i am going to hit the gym early then go home and relax. I am a little sore from yesterday. Havent been sore in awhile! It feels good.

Good job on getting your run in..Go for the p90x! 2 a days are the way to go!! (unless you are feeling burnt out and sick.. so don't over do it woman!)

I'll update tonight on how today went.. so far its 11am and i'm on track for another good day :)

I got a heart rate monitor for xmas and I love it! Do you wear yours all day or just when you are working out? 450 cals burnt in 40 min is awesome! I like putting mine on when I'm cleaning to see how many it burns. What is the highest yours has gone up to? Mine was around 173 and I'm not sure how to figure out my max - some website say 189 but that seems so high. I felt like I was going to die at 173!

Thanks! I am glad to be back :) I also got my heart rate monitor for Christmas.. I don't think I will wear it all day and I am so mad at myself because twice now I have been to the gym and forgotten it!

I know that mine got up pretty high yesterday and I had to slow down for a bit.I think it was at 193.. Next to the heart rate mine actually shows the percentage so I dont have to calculate which is awesome.. It was at 90 + so I took a break and slowed down. Its good to have it because i might have tried to keep pushing myself until I exploded! haha.. I agree that 189 is high because I was almost dying too!
 
ok.. so today, DAY 3.. was another success!

ALTA- you are motivating me so much! I am so happy we are doing this together... AGAIN :) I was most successful with you last time and this time will only be better!

ok.. so I woke up this morning and went to work which sucked of course..but at work today I stood up the whole time and also had to carry a lot of heavy boxes so hopefully I burned a few calories! When I got off at 1 I came and laid in bed and watched tv for like 4 hours like usual.. I am also so tired in the middle of the day lol.. Tonight I went to the gym.. Thursdays are my favorite!!

Sauna stretches (5 min)

Abs (crunches, leg lifts -5 min)
1 hr Zumba class (INTENSE cardio)

Day 4.... SUCCESS AGAIN

Woke up super sore but made myself get out of bed and go to this step circuit class at the gym.. Let me tell you.. these classes push me so much harder than if i were to work out by myself.. My heart rate was in the 70-80% range the entire hour (not sure if thats good or not but im sure it will get easier the more in shape i get) and my heart rate monitor said I burnt 840 calories in an hour and 15 minutes.. if that is accurate, which i hope it is, it goes off of my heart rate, then thats a killer workout! I wanted to quit at times or take a break because it was soo hard but I pushed through and finished.. yay me!

Food went well too and I even allowed myself a little mac and cheese to celebrate!

I decided that I am going to start doing Spinning classes at the gym twice a week, hopefully if I get my pass all squared out. I use my mom's pass cause she doesn't use it, but I lost her ID and now I just have to tell them my name, but I can't do it everytime. SO...yea. Til then.

I am about to whip out p90x and do the do in a little bit!! SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!
I feel crappy for not being able to work out yesterday. I'll tell you though...your calorie counting is VERY inspiring!!! ;) Methodical. You are gauranteeing your success!!! :D!
And....I am PROUD of your picky ass and your eating! Making it happen and just DOING IT!!! :jump:!!!

You need to get one! It is motivating to see those numbers creeping up! Spinning is awesome! It's so hard but it burns a lot of calories! DO IT :)
 
DAY 5--- Cheat day but i didnt totally blow it..

ok.. so today i woke up super sore and i started my period and was just feeling miserable so I decided to use today as my cheat day.

not much to say i have just been lazy all day besides a trip to the grocery store. there is supposed to be a bad snow storm here starting tomorrow night..supposed to be the worst one in years..i hope not! we arent prepared at all if something like that happens..its so rare that it snows here maybe once a year an inch at most but this will be our third snow this winter.. keep fingers crossed that the power doesnt go out!

Hi Christen. I admire the momentum you have built up. You have so much energy and good for you for nipping your weight in the bud before it gets too high. Take an extra rest day if you really need it. (she says, dispensing advice).
 
WooooAAAA!!! A snow storm!?!? That's CRAZY!!!! I LOVE snow, but I don't know about having my lights go out!! From the time of the post, I'm assuming that the lights are still in tact still. I hope!! :D!

Rest days are good! We need balance, and literally if having ONE crappo meal a week is going to keep you on track the rest of the week, then by all means, DO IT!!! :iagree: We have to find a way to create a balance and you are doing it!!!! I'm SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!! :D!!


Your CHOCOLATE CHIP pancake breakfast sounds SOOOO GOOD! I hadn't ever heard of it til right now! Did you make them or go out to eat!? :drool5: Hmmm!!! If in fact you made them, I will have to have you make some when you get out here!! I'd like mine with whole wheat though please... LOL!! :D!!! All in all, you still came in good with the calories and the fact that you are SORE just goes to show that YOU WORKED HARD! Great job!!! Oh well, water failed today. It's ok! Start again tonight, or even tomorrow. When we fall, let's just get back up ONE MORE TIME than we fall and we are a SUCCESS!!!

thanks for the support! i do have a lot of momentum right now so im trying to take advantage of it :)
