Hiya! My name is Chris (suprise!), and it's about time that I started to really lose this weight. I'm 16 and weigh approximately 190 pounds. Now 190 isen't THAT BAD but since I am only 5'6" it looks terrible. I weighed myself today and it was 185, but yesterday it was 190 (stupid fluctuating weight). I was always bigger than all the rest of the kids, and when we played tug-o-war at school my team always won, I used to just think that I was born stronger than everyone else and never really thought about my weight. When I was around eleven my parent's had a rough patch in their marriage and my mom tried to comfort me with Little Debby cakes and a Coke everyday after school, and let's just say it comforted me...alittle too much. I registered to this site awhile back, and I never really thought to post here. I came here to get motivation, and let me tell you what this site is bursting at the seams with it . When I first registered to this site I weighed approximately 210 pounds. I was so unhappy with my weight but I really didn't start dieting though. I cut out all the soft drinks and only drunk water. I have seemed to hit a plateau at the moment though currently stuck at 185-190. This summer I have went to the gym with my grandpa (he's in incredible shape believe it or not). I lifted weights but never thought about cardio. I know I have gained muscle weight and burned off SOME fat, but it doesn't show that on the scale. I'm about to start back school, and I will not have the time nor the means to get to the gym on a daily basis so I thought of home workout DVDs. Something I could do at home in the privacy of my own room, and still hopefully get a decent work out. I was at Wal-Mart and I was scanning through the DVDs when I saw this "Ten Minute Solution- BLAST OFF THE BELLY FAT" heh, if only it was that simple. I picked it up and put it in the buggy, and I also got Billy Blanks' Tae Bo FAT BLASTING CARDIO. Well, saturday I gave these two bad boys a rip and the 10 minute solution thing was ALRIGHT. The BillyBlanks' DVD got my heart racing. I couldn't keep up with them most of the time but dang it sure did get my heart beating. I was sooo sore Sunday that I wasn't even going to attempt it again. I also looked at "Walk Off The Pounds" so I was wondering if anyone here had tried that. Here are the "default" questions :).

-- How much weight do you want to lose? Well, I would like to lose around 35 more pounds to hit the 150 mark. If I am healthy and happy at 160 I may stop.

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight? I don't really have a timeframe but I think sometime in December would be nice. That's if i lose 8 pounds a month.

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Well, I will be calorie counting, drinking TONS of water, and being doing these workout videos.

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal? These forums :). Everyone else's diaries.

-- How realistic is your goal? I think it's pretty realistic. I have never lost weight before but I know I can do it as long as I stick with it.

-- When will you start? I will start the diary, and my weight loss journey TODAY:).

CALORIE CHART

Breakfast
One chewy honey nut bar- 90 Calories
One Nutrigain Bar - 140 Calories

I know this was not a smart way to start off the day but I was on the go. I went to the gym with my grandpa and lifted weights for about 30 minutes. Tricepts :)

Lunch
Turkey and Cheese Sandwich on White Bread - 201 (41 calories in the turkey, 60 in the piece of sliced cheese and 100 in the two slices of white bread)
Grapes - 62 Calories

I think I did well on lunch. It was satisfying and low calorie.

I haven't had dinner yet, or done the cardio DVD. I will update once I get those two done.

Calorie Count so far - 493

Now that I look at it, that's really low. I have been eating like this for awhile..Maybe this has affected my weightloss?

Well, cheers and thanks for reading :).

Well, after I posted that last message I did a very good cardio workout. 20 Minutes on the 10 Minute Solutions, and around 30 on Billy Blanks. I am so tired, and I am probably going to be sore tomorrow. I tried the best I could for dinner but I felt pressure from my mom to eat the Garlic bread that I did not want.

Dinner
Grilled Chicken Salad - 462 Calories in Total
Tomato - 31 Calories
Fat Free Ranch ( I think I had around 2 servings) - 70 Calories
Grilled chicken - 320
Cucumber-16
Propel Fitness Water - 25 Calories

Garlic Bread- 271 Calories

Cantalope as a snack - 23

Total Calories for the day - 1249

That seems low..even for calorie cutting. I may have to start feeding myself more, but healthy of course :)

Also for calories burned I went here
It said that I burned approx. 1077 calories during Tae Bo. Wow, don't know if that's accurate but that's very inspiring. I think I need to up my calorie intake though.

Looks like you're off to a good start and have made some admirable progress already! Hopefully your diary will help you keep motivation high. :)

At your age I know you are probably at the mercy of whatever your parents stock the house with, but watch out for those 'fat free' foods because they usually are high in sugar and/or sodium. Also, see if they'd be willing to get you a loaf of whole wheat bread. It's much more healthful than white! Finally.. more veggies! Can't stress it enough.

Good luck!
