Hi to everyone! I've been on my diet since April this year. Current stats: HT: 5'5" WT: 202 LBS. AGE: 42. My next goal would be to get down to 170. I just started going to the gym 3 days a week. I've never liked exercise so this is all new to me and I'm starting out slow. When I started my weight was 247 LBS. I drink a lot of water and I cut my calories.

Hi and welcome.

You and I share the same stats. I started at 247 and now I'm down just below 170 (whee). I'm looking to lose another 30 lbs or so to hit my final goal ... but we'll see how it looks when I get there.

Good luck with your plan!

Happy to report i lost another 3 lbs!! The gym is a bit intimidating to me right now i'm looking for a home exercise program, one where i can start off S-L-O-W!
There r sooooo many out there i can't figure out what would be best for me.

Congratulations on the 48 pounds that you have lost already.

Many of us were not exactly addicted to exercise in our old life. Well done on making the move towards incorporating exercise into your program.

I didnt join a gym - instead I joined a class at my local adult education centre. They run lots of keep fit classes. If you find the gym intimidating - you might be able to find an "over 40s" class that may fit the bill better. You may feel more comfortable among people your own age group and would still benefit from expert tuition - a teacher would be able to correct your posture during the exercises. I have been going for two years now. At the start of each term we fill in a form with what areas of our body we would like to improve and the teacher tailors the classes to our needs.
