This may seem like a really stupid question, but are chinning bars or pull up bars safe? I mean, if I put a metal bar in a door frame and pull my body weight on it, am I going to end up on my ass surrounded by large wooded splinters?
I saw one the other day while looking for some cheap home gym equipment and was thinking of getting one, but don't want to damage my door frames. Also, I'm still at the fat rather than fit stage, so is it too soon to be tackling something like this? I've seen people a lot fitter than me struggle with chin ups.
