Chest question-?? Help :0)

I started working out again about 4 months ago, and my progress is going good. One thing is bothering me as my body is taking on the shape of my former self, and thats my chest isnt developing evenly, and I think im doing all the right exercises.

How I can explain this, as its almost like my chest is seperating, all pushed to the sides, though the muscle tone is there, but nothing in the middle.

Any suggestions/exercises I can do to remedy this and get a more uniform chest??

Thanks everyone!!!!

Try Dumbell bench press.

Close grip bench press

Sometimes it can be genetics that your chest muscles separate.

Personally I think it looks cool I wish my chest muscles were more separated in the middle

the reason your inner pecs look smaller is because the fibers are bunched up at the arm-pit and thicker looking, while the fibers at the other end are spread out on the sternum and appear thinner.
Any exercise which works the pectorals will work the entire length of the muscle, because the muscle's origin is the sternum and the insertion point is the humerus. There is no point in between which the muscle can anchor to, so any tension generated will pull the entire length of the fiber.

^^Excellent post :D

Honestly, the best you can do is try to use dumbells to make sure that each pectoral is being hit equally. Genetics plays a role as well..

Not necceassrily.

The pecM actually contains fibres originating from the sternalcoastal part and clavicular part, both fibres will be recruited better from ones that work them more. For example, with one arm out in front, trying to move the arm down or up under resistance will work different fibres, youll be able to see if opposite a mirror.

trying incorporating betskies exercises as it sounds like your clavicular part isnt getting the attention it needs.
