Jericho, that is some good information... unfortunately this seems like one of those things that there is little you can really do about it in terms of all of those products out there.
As for exercise... try to incorporate as much activity into your routine as you can... these points have been said over and over, but avoiding elevators and escalators (always using the stairs), parking further away from the store, having "walking meetings" at work, going for a walk on your breaks, riding your bike to work, etc.
All of these little walking stints add up over a day and you are more likely to see fat loss results if you are consistently active, not just being active during your 'workouts'.
Also, you can do some exercises to tone & strengthen your legs, which may help you feel more satisfied with how your legs look.
