First of all, does anyone remember me? I posted from January to June of this year.
Second, I love this Conehead smiley...
What a crazy summer. Too much partying and not enough exercising. I kept my calories down by smoking and drinking alcohol. I quit smoking in September. I gained 3 to 5 pounds, but I would much rather have those extra pounds on me than be addicted to cigarettes again. I've started and quit smoking quite a few times, but I am positive I have kicked the habit.
So....a week after I quit smoking, I started training for a half-marathon. I don't really know why. I needed something to pour my energy into and to keep me motivated to stay smoke-free. It has worked! I am positively addicted to running. I have trouble keeping away from cigarettes at bars/parties, so I am consciously staying away from that environment. My longest run so far has been 10 miles (the half is 13.1). I'm going for 11 this afternoon, so wish me luck!
As far as my diet...I'm eating everything in sight. It's great. I'm getting fruits and veggies, and I actually started eating fish for more protein. But I'm also partaking in poptarts on a regular basis. I thought it would be a good idea to start documenting my food intake again. After the half-marathon, I'm sure I will still want to eat the same amount of calories I am now, but I will be exercising much less. I think I will wait until after the marathon to start tracking my food and calories again. Right now I just eat when I'm hungry (which is all the time) and try to replace all my expounded energy. I'm not really trying to lose weight. There is still that extra 5-10 pounds I'd like to get rid of, but I'm saving that goal for another day.
Overall, I'm happy with my physique. The mileage has given me strong, (mostly) lean legs. Stomach is (mostly) flat. I think I look pretty good. I like what I see in the mirror, but I want to LOVE what I see. You know what I mean?
Anyhoo, sorry this post is so long. I look forward to reading about everyone!
