Carly Takes Charge: A Weight Loss Diary

Hi, my name is Carly and I'm new to the forum but I decided to start a weight loss diary right away so I can track my journey! I'm going to record my successes, set backs, weigh-ins and meals in the diary and I hope that it will keep me accountable and motivated.

I began my weight loss on Jan 1, 2010 at 200 lbs and have lost about 30 lbs so far! I have a personal trainer and am on a whole foods diet (which i ocassionaly break :blush5: ). I'm in my last year of University and am FINALLY around the weight that I was in grade 12 when i was super active (except most of my weight was muscle, and right now that's not the case lol). I used to do and teach karate, as well as teach swimming, run Aquafit classes, coach a triathlon team and lifeguard. In university all of that activity stopped, and as I quickly gained weight I slowly lost who I was.

When I hit 200lb last Christmas and saw photos from that I decided that I had to take action once and for all! One of my closest friends had recently lost about 50lb after her mother passed away from Cancer, and seeing my friend's journey to health motivated me even further.

Today I am feeling much better and happier! I feel like I am slowly becoming myself again, and I even started swimming at the University pool last week!! I still have a ways to go, but I think the biggest change so far has been regaining my happiness and motivation in life :)

Hi Carly, There's quite a few girls on here that are also at Uni. Comment in their diaries and you'll soon have a support group of girls that you have loads in common with. Good luck on your weight loss.
