Cancer Remission

Hi Everybody!
My name is Annie and I am new to this board and to working out.
I am 35 years old and for the past two years I had cancer treatments and my health was very bad. I mostly stayed in bed and was not able to excercise at all. Running errands was a big thing for me. Three months ago I received my last chemio treatment and now I am cancer free. For one month now I started to work out a bit, I have this old vhs tighs of steel video that I do. The results are good but my butt is still very soft. I would like to know if there's a dvd out there that you would recommend.I badly need to be toning my body. Maybe if somebody knows a personnal trainer in the miami beach area that could come to my home...I am way too out of shape still to go work out in a gym, and I cannot picture myself working out with a wig!!lol

Trying to get back in shape

Annie,
Congratulations on being cancer free! That's awesome. Hopefully somebody will post the link for trainers because there is a site that has a directory for all of the personal trainers in the U.S.

Otherwise, can you buy a piece of cardio equipment? Like a treadmill? Otherwise you could buy a jumprope! I personally recommend getting a netflix membership () and renting exercise videos. That way you don't buy them and get sick of them!! :)

Thanks a lot Teresa.

I actually found a list of personnal trainer in Miami beach but there is so much scam going around here, that I wanted to get a professionnal opinion on who I can trust. If someone who reads this knows a trainer that is experienced then let me know. I actually read one of your thread about the nexflix option and i suscribed right away...can't wait to get new dvd workouts.Until then my "thighs of steel video" is doing the job..so far so good!!

Annie

Sorry, I wish I could help with the trainer part but I am FAR from Miami Beach in Washington State :)

I actually still like those buns/thighs/arms of steel videos. I recently bought a couple at Target for $1 hoping to get some moves for my aerobics classes :)

Netflix is fun too because you can get regular movies too. And they are QUICK (at least in Washington). I usually rent one regular movie and one exercise video.
