Can someone help me through my plateau please?

I've plateaued for 2 weeks at 187. I know it doesn't seem like that big of a deal - but I would like to lose at least 1-2 pounds a week (minimum) and have been working as hard as ever.

This is what is so frustrating... I have exercised 6 days a week consistently . I recently started with a trainer- got a weight lifting plan and everything and have been lifting every other day with cardio six days a week. Last week, for the first time in four years, I ran 3 miles without stopping and felt great. I know I am getting in better shape- but why isn't the weight coming off?

I am consuming 1200-1500 calories each day. I mainly eat Lean Cuisines, yogurt, have 1-2 diet cokes a day, and if i snack i have a 100 calorie pack of sandies OR a weight watcher dessert bar. I drink lots of water and crystal light too.

I know it is normal for everyone to plataeu- and i hate to change anything exercise wise because I just started lifting weights and I think it is really helping me tone but what do you guys think? Could the weight lifting be slowing me down? Thanks for reading and I appreciate your opinions.

2 weeks really doesn't make a plateau...

have you checked measurements lately?

it's not realistic to expect a loss every single week...

How long have you been dieting? and are you recording everything that you're eating.. (sometimes those little bits and pieces do add up to real calories..

and congrats on the run - no matter what the scale says -that's a huge victory...

Mal- I guess you are right. 2 weeks isn't really that long. I should probably see how this goes. I have not done measurments - and I need to get on that so maybe that's a good thing to do ASAP. I have been dieting since mid July and have lost 28 pounds. I am still writing down what I'm eating .

Thanks for the kind words about the run :)

steve has it posted somewhere - I just dont know where it is right now... but basically the suggestion is usually to eat at maintenance for a bit - then cut back from your maintenance level... it might cause a slight weight gain... but eventually it settles down ad the scales moves back in the right direction..
