The main thing I use for my insomnia is mindfulness meditation- acknowledging the way I'm feeling and allowing myself to accept it. It sounds counterintuitive, but after awhile it really works- it doesn't allow you to hook into your anxiety. (I was taught mindfulness meditation by my therapist as part of my treatment for my anxiety disorder). Other things I use in conjunction with that are the standard sleep hygiene (only using the bedroom for sleep, sex, and getting dressed- particularly no reading or electronics in bed), winding down half an hour before bed (turn the lights out gradually, don't do anything stimulating in the last half an hour to hour before bed), keeping a worry diary by my bed (so I can write it down and theoretically not think about it until the morning), and making sure I'm not hungry (but am not overfull or at risk of my bladder being full in the middle of the night) before I go to bed. Also making sure my bedding is comfortable- not too hard, soft, hot or cold. It's a bit of trial and error and there are more techniques than that, but that's what I do when I sleep best.
Amy ~ Thanks for the tips. I want to start going to sleep earlier and I think some of this will help! Thanks!
Camilia ~ It's now Tuesday so hopefully that's better for ya! Although, I'd like to fast forward to June and skip over all the hard work I'm going to be putting in! haha. Wouldn't that be nice. It must be hard having to always get fresh veges. Me, not having a car, it would be near impossible. I love to hear about your juicing, I definitely want to try. Good luck with finding a new job, it is pretty difficult and repetitive but hopefully you'll find something you enjoy more! Let us know how it goes!
