Calves???!!!?!??!?!

Okay, I am 13 years old and in the eighth grade. My calves are really big and I want to lose the fat off it! What type of cardio should i do? I know that running will make it bigger because it will gain muscle....I don't have any equipment except for a treadmill so what can I do? I'm trying to eat more healthier and i don't really do excercise now except for P.E. and the basketball team tryouts at my school. But i don't think that's really enough. so please help me!

Well I'd wait until highschool where you'll find out guys like big calves or muscular legs on girls, but if you must... Just watch what you eat, that's the main way to lose fat. But you can't choose where it comes from, just hope that sooner or later it'll come off your calves.

well, I am in high school....there's not really any middle schools or junior highs where i live 'cause i live in British Columbia, Canada. But even if guys like big calves, I don't like it and it makes me feel self-concious when I wear shorts...that's one of the reasons why I wanna quit the basketball team, because I don't want everyone to see my calves. Do you think like riding bicycles will help get the fat off? But since it's winter where I am now and there's some snow, I can't go bike-riding so instead, can i just move my legs the way i would on a bicycle when I sit down?

In order to get your fat off you legs, you need to eat clean, that's 80% of your success... As far as your calves, you want them muscular because of basketball. Plus you're still growing up, so don't worry about it til you're done growing, and since you're 13, you have quite a ways to go.

but i REALLY don't want my legs muscular so I might drop out of basketball...

what is up with everyone and the quick fix!! it takes time to get the body toned and built the way you want it and some of work very hard to get it and keep it that way. there is no quick easy fix except the cheaters way- surgery. love the body you have and work it to get it the way you want it and then work it some more

^ word !!! :)
you gotta learn how to love yourself and be willing to be patient if you want to make some changes
and are those calves big because they are fat or because they are muscular?

Your way to young to worry so much about your calves. I'll trade you I have chicken legs! It is probably safe to say that your calves are not as big as you think they are. Lots of body image issues are over exaggerated in the mind of the beholder. Plus you will probably grow a bit taller which will lengthen out your legs and possibly shrink your claves a bit. If it is bothering you that much, cut the fat and sugars out of your diet and do your treadmill on a steep incline, thereby utilizing your upper legs and not your claves. Be patient and don't give up. People have all different body types and as much as I would love bigger legs, it's going to take me longer to get there and they will never be as big as someone who was born with larger legs.

I think it's fat...
But a useless question, if it is muscular, is there anyway i can still make it smaller? I'm saying it's a useless question cause i dont really have muscular calves. Thanks =)

running tones your calves, you wont get big calve muscles from running, youll lose that fat but not gain any muscle.

Okay, now I know that, I feel safe to run now and I'll get back to running cause I like running. :D Should I run at high incline and a high speed or the opposite?

yeah.. step up to that treadmil! :D and dont commit mistakes, just be patient!
hmm you should try hiit because that's the best to burn fat..it consists on alternating between sprinting and walking to rest (but Im not the best person to advise you..someone will but I think Im right)
