cabers, sheafs, weights...oh my

Haha, well we will just have to see one of these days ;).

So, glucagon bring more sugar into the blood when blood sugar is low? How? I guess you have to eat something first, right?

Sorry if im hijacking your log. Someone can PM me the answer so it doesn't take up space here.

Did you get your answer before I throw out an answer? In hindsight, I'm not sure why insulin was my first response since insulin is given to patients with high blood sugar. Anyway, Trevor was right in that glucagon was the correct answer in that instance. I demand partial credit for mentioning glucagon. :hug2:

Sun-8/26

Okay, I made it into the gym today for a poor performance. Thursday I noticed a bit of "cotton wrapped" throat. I wasn't feelin peak energy either. When I woke up Friday, my throat was scratchy and continued to get worse, I couldn't get awake, and I felt run-down. I crashed on Friday at 7pm (which I've NEVER done) and slept for 15 hours. I felt like hell, throat hurt every time I swallowed...so I neglected eating from Friday at 11am until this morning Sunday when my throat felt okay.

Now I'm still feeling run-down and tired, but at least I can stomach eating and drinking...a ton of water, tuna fish salad, and ice cream. I got another 12 hours of sleep last night with naps throughout the day on Saturday.

-Superset-
A1)deadlift/RDL(to floor):385X1X4/225X8X4
A2)db bench press:90sX8, 90sX7X2, 85sX7, 80sX8X4
~The above took nearly all the energy out of me.~
--Cable Circuit--
B1)face pulls:120X15X3
B2)tri rope ext:100X12X3
B3)cable drag curls:80X13X3
B4)pullthroughs:170X15X3

....I left and drank a lot of FF chocolate milk+5 grams creatine. I'm going to take a nap now and then attempt to get some grading done.

But at basal levels both are being secreted. However, when glucose levels fall to a certain point, glucagon is secreted in a greater amount than insulin, but insulin is not shut off from secretion.

So, in the realm of endurance, say exertion beyond 180 min, over 3 hours, when I dump a gu into the gullet, what is the effect?

sugar and glucose and insuline and all of this is what i run out of, right?

FF-I recommend a lot of carbs. Taht much running makes me shudder in fear.

Teaching sucks. Constant yelling takes a toll on even the strongest of throats, and being around kids aka germ bags doesn't do much for keeping a clean slate of sickness.

Grading? Already?

Yeah. They've had a test over volleyball. And they get graded every week for dressing out and participating. I'll be starting into the basics of nutrition (what a kcal is, etc) next week, and they'll have a test over my lecture the week following.

So next week is the start of nutrition and dodgeball. I also start every class out with them doing pushups, supermans, chins, crunches, and court lunges. For cardio we vary between a mile run and sprints on the soccer field.

I seen a girl today at the beach whose shirt read:

Skirts are for girls
Kilts are for athletes

That's awesome. I have a few shirts like that. I need to get some more. I traded so many of our last years festival teeshirts with the vendors for some of their teeshirts.

2 weeks til Tulsa...I'm f'n pumped.

Better take some good pics...

Will do.

Update since I'm lazy lately...

Friday nothing to shout about. Went with friend and humored him by doing his workout which was a combination of a bunch of bicep, tricep, and shoulder stuff. I did manage to get him to do power curls for the biceps and rack lockouts for the triceps working with 315 for reps of 6 over 5 sets.

Sat-
Did a Game style throwing setup. No measurements taken, but we did 3 throws each for
