Burning Fat

Apologies if it has been asked befoe and if so point me in the direction of the thread.

What does your heart rate need to be to be burning fat?

I havebeen told that my running 3 miles 3 times a week may not be burning fat and more just good CV exercise. I am thinking of using the bike with visable heart rate monitor for better results?

I want to lose my beer belly, I am going to better my diet aswell.

Please advise
 
on average you would want your heart rate somewhere between 100 and 120 if you just want to burn fat. this is if you are not interested in a CV workout.
