burning fat but not bulking

I know i have to do alot of cardio but i was wondering if i still have to have protein in my diet?
I also want to know how you guys keep up with your guys workouts, cause its almost been a year since i started to workout and im starting to lose interest in it. im starting to get lazy and tired quick. what do you guys/girls do to keeep your spirits up?

i'm coming up on a solid year of workout out also, but really after that first 6-8 weeks of working out it was very easy to get me in the gym or to do some other form of work out. I would say change it up, sometimes i can't workout with weights or run on the treadmill but i'll play soccer for a few hours, playing sports always motivates me, reading these forums, seeing progress i've made, certain music or movies will get me pumped up and just feeling good about myself. (i don't think i know anyone that doesn't want to run or box or just beat the hell out of someone when they watch any of the Rocky Films) wether its weights or sports you have to make sure that your workout, no matter how tough is still enjoyable.

Yes, you still needs tons of protein.

It becomes a way of life, once you know enough and learn more, you come to love it, and it's just a part of your life

I tend to find my little collection of 'progress pics' aren't great for me.

Seeing the change fo the positive and knowing the there's a point to the graft makes it worthwhile.

Plus I actually enjoy lifting.

Long early morning runs in the middle of winter is the part I struggle to enjoy :D

You need to keep a focused diet in order to see improvement. You can go to the gym for 5 years and see no difference if you do not have the correct diet.

My self made tips are

VTT = Various Timed Training
You need to train alot but there is no point training the same muscles everyday, you need to let them rest to develop. Therefor, vary your exercises and vary the times that you exercise each muscle

VTE = Various Timied Eating
You need to eat the right food at the right time and vary your food from time to time. Also time your food - carbs in the morning, protein after the gym etc

hope this helps

if you're in a cutting phase, protein becomes even more important in my opinion. because cutting phases should include cutting starchy carbs, you're gonna need to get those calories from another macro nutrient...and fat really isn't ideal...not for all of those calories at least.
thus you split them into mostly protien, and some healthy fat.

if you feel burned out, you could try supplementing with L-tyrosine. its an amino acid and it does play a role in keeping the central nervous system firing properly. a bad CNS can leave you tired, lazy, even depressed.

you may also need a week or two break, if you've been religously working out for the past year without any sort of 'vacation'.

If you can, set a time for yourself to workout. You can practice a little flexibility in your routines, but keep your times consistent. If you're lacking motivation, the best way to get yourself to do it is to force yourself. Do it because you have to, because it's what you expect of yourself. You may not be able to physically force yourself to be motivated, however, you CAN physically force yourself to workout. So, don't make it a question of motivation, but make it a factor of just getting up and doing it. At first, I made it a point to simply be able to lift a lot of weight without getting bigger. After that I made it a point, to change my small frame to a decently built frame. After that was accomplished, I still want a better build but for awhile motivation declined. However, I physically forced myself to keep the routine, and now it's just a part of my schedule, and I don't make exceptions or excuses for myself, I just do it, and I'm glad I stuck with it because I really enjoy it. It's not just about getting built anymore, but having fun. I think the gym is fun because it's like a place for the adults to play. Hehe.
