bulking up, walking for cardio, one week

Ok, I have a few questions. First, as reccommended by some of you, I have been doing a lot more resistance training, and am loving it. It makes me feel great, and I don't think I'm any smaller, but I do think I'm harder over all. I actually seem to be gettting a little bigger. My arms, legs, waist. They're not as flabby, but bigger. I'm still doing cardio. What do I need to do differently to just tone?

2. Is walking okay as a form of cardio? I've been running, but I don't really enjoy it, and its bringing pain back into the knee that I had surgery on. I also ride the bike, which I love, but that doesn't seem to burn as many calories (maybe because you're not using your whole body as much).

3. How much weight/visual improvement can I expect to see in a week. I have an event on Sunday and would like to look my best. I don't want to do anything unhealthy. I'm just wondering what would be the best things for me to do to look my best this weekend. What and how much should I be eating? What and how much should I be working out?

Thanks.

There is nothing you can do that is going to in a week that is going to make any appreciable difference to your appearance. Unless you are reasonably lean even one week of diuretics wouldn't make an impact.

So just keep up with your workouts! You're doing fine.

Riding the bike is one of the better low impact cardiovascular exercises you can do. If running is aggrivating an old surgery (I feel you there), and walking just isn't cutting it anymore for the caloric expenditure you're aiming for, kicking some ass on the bike is definately an acceptable substitute. Use the "Interval" setting, or "hills".
