New highs are a great feeling of accomplishment. Pushing farther and/or faster is how we progress and improve performance. You don't know your limits until you push yourself to identify them. I didn't bonk at 30 miles, but if I had to have gone another mile or two I would have. So, I'll keep pounding away miles until I can do 35. Then 40. And so on and so forth until one of these years I do 100.
And I also pushed my calories beyond my normal daily limit too. We went out this evening and I had a steak, salad, grilled zucchini, roasted spaghetti squash, and a vodka and club soda. Still under 2300 calories for the day, so I'm good.
