Bruised wrist?

I was playing hockey this weekend and got my ass checked and fell on the ground and kinda jammed my left wrist. Its bruised I think and hurts. I'm afraid to lift cause I don't want to further damage it. It sometimes hurt when I lift anyway. Should I tape my wrist up? is their some type of lifting gloves I could buy to prevent it from moving so Much?

Also, Any exercises that I should be doing to stregthen and heal wrist?
 
You need to see a physician and get an x-ray done. YOu could have damaged the tiny bones in the wrist of tore the ligaments. I suggest you see a doctor and ask him or her if you should go back to weightlifting anytime soon.

That's all the more reason to get your butt to the doctor. 3 years without at least a simple physical is not good.

You have to respect your body man.
 
Hey man they may be jerks but those jerks will let you know if your wrist is messed up. Its up to you to go to a doctor but dont make excuses, either do it or dont. But if you dont plan on going to a doctor then definatley dont do any strenuous activities involving your wrist until your pain goes away.
 
its better to get checked out now and take it easy for a week or two than to keep working out and then really f*** something up, and be out for 2-3 months, and then if surgery is needed, i hope you have health insurance and don't mind missing 3-6 month of working out.
it can be a pain to go to the doc's or take time off but a little time off to properly heal and be safe is better than a lot of time off and not even being able to open a door, or write for 3 months
 
Ya I have insurance i'm still a college student. I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow for a physical and i'll have him look at my wrist.
 
i had the same problem! all i did was push a 10kg weight disc across my room and my wrists was properly ****ed !! after a month of pain i think it has finally gone and my wrist is back to normal now! lol. but i still think you should see a doctor i didnt and i think i should have.
 
and now ive ****ed my arm today my mate threw a 6 foot fat stick and it would ave hit my head if i didnt block it . looks like im going to have to take atleast a week off :mad:
