Broad shoulders!

Hey peeps

Ive been working out on my arms using up to 5kg weights but now my arms seem to be getting very broad!! I dont want broad i want shape! They are already very skinny so i just wanted to tone up. Can anyone help!?
 
Ive only been doing running 15 mins every day but dont really want to burn any fat!

In terms of exercises,

Lateral raises
Bicep curls
bent over dumbell rows
Tricep extentions
Overhead press

Is there anything im doing wrong? I just want a more shapely upper body instead of weedy ,skinny ,boney etc lol but my shoulders are just gettin wider

Ok, you told me about half of the workout. What is your rep/set scheme?
If you don't want size - just tone I recommend you lift heavy for lower reps/sets. You may be bulking by doing too many reps with a small weight.
Also, keep in mind that it may be your body type you a fighting. If your body is genetically predisposed to have broad strong shoulders, then that is what you will have. My wife is the same way. She was a swimmer, and when she lifts her shoulders go back to broad swimmers shoulders. There is nothing wrong with that as long as the rest of your body is somewhat proportionate.
 
Yea i think it must be too many reps with small weights! Im not really experienced with weight training jsut started 2 months ago :I

I was thinking would working the trampezius give me more shape? I could be wrong but thanks sio much for the help :)

Well firstly if thats how your lookin thats great, she's hott!!

anyway. I think your neglecting the front and back of your deltoids...

Fot the front part do flexion at the shoulder joint. (remeber flexion of the shoulder is in the plane of the shoulder blades not the boy, so your arms will be coming in front and slightly in the middle)

Well, if you look like the first picture I would not be worried. That is pretty much the shape that most athletic women have. Personally, I would much rather have a girl like that vs. a skinny girl any day.

Matt182 is correct. Your routine is not exactly a total body experience.
Should you work your ?
Up to you really. Are your shoulders underdeveloped? If you look like that picture then I wouldn't worry about it. One thing about the traps > I have found them to develop easily with proper training, and it is not something I would look for in a girl. Up to you really though. Look in the mirror .... that should tell you the areas you need more focus on. We can easily recommend exercises for any area you want to tone.

I really would like to work my lats because they will give me a more shapely upper body right? Or am i not? The bit just above the weight and below the chest! i could be talkin a load of rubbish!

You can do lat pulldowns or pull/chin ups or seated rows for that. It will give you a bit more of a V shape.
 
Well, if you have a gym then you can use the assisted pull up bar....that is what it's there for. Also, if you have a bar you can reach while standing, you can give yourself a bit of momentum by pushing off with your toes >> lieka atiny jump. Lower yourself slowly. This is similar to doing negatives and it will get you strong enough to do normal pulls/chins.

ahh my shoulders seem to be getting wider and bonier!! I am seeing quite a good lat difference especially top of the lats!! :) at last after twio months! Im just not really happy with my blimin shoulders!

Can anyone or u Johnny..:) put me out my misery and tell me if these womens shoulders are just generic or can they be achieved by working out cos i dont want my boney shoulders anymore

I don't think your shoulders look noticeably WIDE :confused: , and even if they did, I don't think that's anything bad, in fact I quite like that :)
Though that's just me.

I'm not exactly sure why or what you mean by "shapelier".

Though in advise I'll say that genetics is the only thing that determines where your body will store additional fat, so you may or may not be able to get extra fat on your shoulders without too much effort of gaining fat.

But seriously, you shouldn't aim to get more fat :p
