Boxing Cardio With Weight Training

Hi, I'm new here. Great forum.

Got tired of being obese most of my life, and for the last 2 months I've been eating less and doing just cardio, I've lost like 20+ lbs so far, but have a long way to go.

I started doing 20 min heavy bag hitting with 30 min treadmill, now I'm doing 20 min heavy bag hitting and 20 min stationary bike but with more intensity, and just this week I decided to add some weight training with some basic dumbell routines, my question is...

Since I like the heavy bag hitting cardio so much, I'm wondering, could this interrupt or mess with my muscle rest period? today for example I was a bit sore from my upper body weight workout from monday but I still did the bag hitting anyway.
