BooG690's Weight Loss Thread

Well, first, let me introduce myself. I'm a 22-year old male living on Long Island. I work as a card dealer for a casino entertainment company. I came to this forum looking for a thread to write down my thoughts, feelings, and actions concerning weight loss. Also, I like to have others comment, criticize, and question my doing-so. I use similar threads to chronicle other things in my life.

I am overweight and am looking to lose about 15 pounds. Now, to be honest, the numbers don't actually matter to me. I simply want to look my best as I have been overweight the majority of my life. I want to accomplish this goal by exercising and watching what I eat. I am looking to accomplish this goal before beach season...for obvious reasons (women, girls, and more women). :) I already started in my journey to do so...but need help staying on track. Hopefully, all you out there can help me do so. Women...tell me how much you love a fit guy. Guys...tell me how being fit (or your lack of being so) affects your love life (I guess that'll be the discussion on this post until further notice!).

Now, that is not to say that I am ONLY doing it for girls. Exercising is a great tool to release stress and helps my body regulate itself. I would usually stay up 'til all types of crazy times of the morning...but exercise forces me to sleep early (being that I'm crazy tired and I know I have to wake up in the morning to go to the gym).

How can you help me? Be honest! a "you can do it!" doesn't necessarily do it for me. Tough love is what works for me. So be harsh, be blunt, and be brutal. Take the gloves off...I can take it!

My mother is another person that supports me. Well, better said, we support each other. We wake up early in the morning to go to the gym. Neither of us wants to be the person that flaked out...so we basically force each other to go. She used to be in the Army. She also used to wake up at 5:00AM to run four miles each day. The lady's in her late 50's...and she's a MACHINE! She is a huge inspiration to me and shows me how important discipline is.

Now, the darker side of my weight loss. I have chosen to take diet pills to supplement my weight loss. The pills I am taking are Lipo6x pills. I am using them to complement my diet and exercise program so I can lose weight faster.

What do I eat? I friggin' LOVE Subway sandwiches. I take down a Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki like it's my job. I wash it down with a Diet Coke (I know, not good for me at all) and chips (I know...even WORSE!). And ironically enough, after starting my quest to lose weight, I've added macadamia nut cookies to this meal! This has got to stop...and I hopefully I can do so quickly (maybe tomorrow?).

Besides Subway, I eat whatever normal Americans eat. Nothing to fatty or greasy and out of the ordinary. I avoid fast food restaurants and rarely succumb to them (I actually don't like them and find them nasty).

That's really it for now. Any other questions, please feel free to post! Thanks for reading this far...and please say hi!

Well...I just got back from the gym. I went Tuesday also...but not yesterday. I actually went down to Atlantic City for the day.

On Tuesday, I jogged/walked 2.59 miles. Did some strength training...it went pretty well.

Today, I jogged a mile and did yoga before that. I love me some yoga as it gets my blood going. It actually helps me become more limber and flexible. I suggest it to everybody on here who hasn't tried it. If you're a guy and think it's a little feminine, get that thought out of your mind. It's quite the workout and I guarantee you'll see that in the first fifteen minutes of doing your exercise.

Unfortunately, being that I was on "vacation," I ate pretty badly yesterday. Burgers, burgers, and more burgers. Well, two burgers, but still. I'm not very happy about that and I feel pretty guilty. The good thing about the guilt is you do NOT want to feel this again...so I probably will not be eating badly again (at least for a month or two :-\). Anyway, that's really it for now. Time for some breakfast.

So I didn't go to the gym all last week (besides Monday) due to my going to Florida to see my friend play baseball. Additionally, I was working all weekend and my mom had a conflicting schedule...so no gym last week.

I started this week off with a bang...had the best run I've had in a long time. I went 2.75 miles in 35 minutes (last 5 minutes was a cooldown) which is pretty good for me. I ruined my good diet last week with Papa John's and shitty food in Florida. Hopefully I'll put that behind me and start fresh this week. I'm still trying to cut the cookies out at Subway...but they're so damn good. The diet pills are giving me pretty good energy and I crash just around 11:30pm-midnight which isn't bad. That's really all for now...hopefully more updates will come!
