Body pain and routine

Hi guys!

I have a quick one re bodypain and when you should be working out. I guess its almost under the topic of over-training.

What i want to know is if i have general muscle pain (the good sign kind)
should i be working out still?

Eg, i usually get the muscle pain 18hrs after the workout (late afternooon on my rest day) and then that leads in to my day of workout.

I dont believe im over-training but if i was to conintue while i had the muscle pain, would that be over-training?

Cheers,
Steve.

I recently read a Muscle and Fitness article that scientifically proved that you can indeed train the same muscle when sore and that it will not affect you negatively. However, the results are not any different from just training once and allowing for that muscle to recover over 6-7 days (for a major muscle) or so.

I have found that working a sore muscle will sometime relieve the soreness.
That is provided it is not and injury and just minor soreness from working out.

i've also heard that stretching before and after workouts is essential ;]

Hi. Thanks for the replies.

Nah, im not new to training although i have taken up lower rep for much high weights, this has been for the last few weeks.

I have heard a lot of conflicting info re pain and train, was just fishing to see what opinions were on here!

Physically speaking, its hard to see gains on yourself so early (2 weeks) but i can definately feel more firmness.

But yeah, nothing worse than over training! as we all know.

thanks,
steve
