LOL. Most people who do well at sales are good at bullshitting and smooth talking. I'm not very good at that.
I work hard for my clients when I have them..lol My issue is getting the clients. I hate cold calling and harrassing for sale by owners and people whose listings have just expired. Also, the do not call list applies to Realtors, so you have to check every number before you bug them. I'd rather send out mailings, but that adds up quickly--especially when they keep raising the postal rates.
The issues for the closing that were bugging me earlier have been resolved. Although I'm annoyed that the listing agent took the keybox off the door so I can't do a walk-through.
Well, I can tell you I don't usually make tons of money off a closing, and the work I do that I never get paid for has to be figured in as well. I'd probably be better off working a minimum wage job..lol. Well, maybe not that bad--but not far off. The thing I do like about my job is its flexibility. I am pretty much my own boss and work when I want (most of the time). Most agents make less than $25K a year. There's a saying that 20% of the agents do 80% of the business, and it's sooo true.
Your H's ex could have done several things. If they are a company that expects their agents to sell a high volume, that could be the reason she got the axe. Or she could've violated some code of ethics (yes, believe it or not, they DO exist in RE..haha), or repeatedly mishandled transactions. It could also be that her broker got a lot of complaints about her from other agents or clients.
