Cohen's Lifestyle BIGjim's (Soon to be SLIMjim's) Diary!

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Hello Jim. I saw your diary at the top and had a quick look. It's funny, because there were a few pages, whenever I saw it, I thought you must have been on Cohens for a long time to have so many pages, so I didn't look, because I'm not great when it comes to starting at the beginning of someones diary and reading through. I'm so glad I did though.
So this is your 3rd week right?? That is so cool. Now, well done on walking away from that chicken mayo thingy. Now with all your feeling emotionally etc, all I can say is, women are used to these sorts of feelings, and talking about them etc, so you'd think we'd have a pretty good handle on it, and be pretty together after years of practise right?
Nup. Not me anyway. The girls who have posted on here, have said some awesome things, and they are so right.
So I'm not going to add but, HANG IN THERE. And keep coming here for support. It wont always feel like it does right now. As long as you know there will be times when you feel over the moon - you have that belief, it gives you hope. This is temporary. Yeah, it sounds like you have some stuff to sort, and you'll get there. A step at a time mate. I suffer anxiety, at night more, you know when you worry about stuff, but it is a lot better than it used to be. But when you're going through the panic attacks they are the worst. You aren't alone. All of us here are going/have been through something, and you have our support.

Hello Jim. I agree with everything said above. We are all here for you & for one another, to support & not to condemn, no matter what happens, xo Cate.

Just saying Hello...

Hi Jim,
You have been in my thoughts... hope it's all going well for you!
What have you been doing with your time now that you have more of it (since you're no longer just eating your life away?)
If you have interests in piano and life coaching you should definitely pursue them. I am really enjoying both... in fact, I have a coaching class in 20 mins so better go and make breakfast (an omelet with grated zucchini, YUM! my absolute favorite meal of the day)

Hi Every one,
Sorry i haven’t been on for a while, but i was in hospital! Nothing serious just a small op but then it got infected and i had to stay in!!
Needless to say i have not been on the diet! But i am pleased to say that i dont think i have put anything on any way...(not that i have weighed myself yet!)

Got home last night, and just feel really tired! I can never sleep properly in hospital!! I will be starting the diet again by the week end! I just need to get some shopping!

Any way i am feeling ok, and looking forward to making a start again!! I was gutted that i had not stuck to the plan, but it was out of my hands!! Saying that i did eat things that i could have said NO to, but not too much!!!!

SOOOOO back on Cohens in the next few days!!!!!!!!

Dont feel badly about going off plan when you were in hospital. I know that when I had my operation last year - eating in hospital was a nightmare.

To start off with I am very sodium sensitive and knew that I would gain a lot of weight the minute that they put a sodium drip into me - but they were insistent that they had to do it... Then I didnt eat for a couple of days (gaining weight because of the saline the whole time). When they finally did allow me to eat sloppy food - it was cereal with sugar (no sweetener option) and full fat milk (no skimmed milk option). Then the next thing that they let me have was cauliflower cheese - even though I gain weight if I have cheese.

The fact is that we all know that if you are in hospital you get no choice in anything - least of all food. It is not even like it is wonderful tasting food - the stuff that jump into our fantasies when we dont want them to... It is stuff that you never wanted...

Please dont feel gutted. The important thing is that the health problem has been sorted out. You will be able to get straight back on track. Next time you have to go into hospital you will be so much fitter - because you will be getting the benefit of all the hard work that you are doing now in addressing your weight problem.

Glad to hear you are OK, Big Jim. Health is the number focus here - that's what the diet is designed to do, make us healthy, but if other things in your body are out of order and a hospital stay was required, just go with the flow and start again when you are ready. It's all part of the journey, something that has to be handled as life dishes it out.

Hope your coming week is a bit happier.

Hi Jim, Glad to hear that you are ok. Good health is our focus & it's good to hear that you are rearing to go by the week-end. You'll get back on track fairly quickly. Just take each day at a time like you did at the start. Look forward to, once again, reading all about your weight-loss story. It's lovely having Omega offering her support over here. Have a look at her diary sometime. Very impressive story! Cheers, Cate.

Good stuff Jim! I think we were all a little worried about you and are glad that you have reported in and are A-OKAY. Good to hear from you and I hope your on the road to recovery :)

Take care of yourself and try and psyc yourself up for this Monday- I find that it always helps when re-starting and not taking any excuses from yourself.

:) Nicole

Glad to see you are back Jim, we were all a bit concerned. Hope you are feeling ok. You cannot help things that are beyond your control, but now you are back and ready to start again.

I am sure you will get back in the swing of things quickly.

Take care

Sue

Have you got "back on track" yet? Sometimes the hardest thing is to say "right - this is the second - from this moment on I am being good and following my plan".

You were doing so well before the hospital trip but had to have a little break from things...

Cate is too kind about my diary. All our weight loss dreams can come true with consistent hard work and determination. It gets easier with time. The naughty food gets less tempting as we get it out of our system and we form good habits so that good things get done automatically. We see the weight come off and that motivates us too. I honestly believe that the first step is the hardest.

You know that the forum is here to support you and cheer you on - both the folk from Cohen's and one or two (like me) that dive in from outside.

I have to say that I am getting a little worried about you. I do hope that you are ok and post something in your diary soon. Your many friends are here to support you and know what a difficult task this entire business of weight loss is. No-one will judge you if you are having difficulties getting back on track.

I am still worried about you...

I just wanted to remind you that your weight loss dreams really can come true.

Whenever I doubted it was ever possible on the way down I looked at the before and after pictures of Charlie Walduck - who you may have seen on This Morning television program. He lost a phenominal 30 stone. That always inspired me. It kind of put my 12 stone dream into perspective...

There were times that I had to look at those pictures every day. It certainly takes consistent hard work.

I know that all the Cohen's crowd will be hoping that we hear from you soon.

Miss you Jim! Hope your okay and have recovered from your operation :)

Just remeber the program is about you and getting healthy! If you find Cohen's too much then there is always other methods, we have just found Cohen's to work best for each of us! Dont feel ashamed or sad to come back and update if you haven't managed to get back on the plan of if you havee decided that Cohen's is not for you. We just want to know that you are okay and alive and kicking :)

Hope you drop by soon and take care of yoursel!!!
:) Nicole
