Biggest Loser Tonight

I love Jillian too - less boobs than the new chick :)

And oh my god, that Bob is SOO gay! i never even clicked he was gay at all until like the third season :D
Very nice guy though. And i do like pushy trainers like Jillian, thats my kinda trainer.
I just wish my PT was more pushy like that.

Jillian, I love...even if she's a hard ass. New chick, gets on my nerves aka wanna be Jillian IMO. Bob, absolute sweetheart and most definitely gay. I'd go for the "gay sweetheart" any day! LOL

Icaught like the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes - sorry the chick who lost 20 lbs in one week and the dude who lost 31 lbs in a week - did they become hollow? because there was no visible difference at all in their appearance - so how can you lose that much weight and not have it show a difference?

not that it matters but how could anyone thing that the trainer dude guy wasn't gay - come on...

haha, that reminds me when I lost my first 30-some pounds and no one could notice.

Hell, all the trainers are 'hard ass' in the eyes of weight losers I suppose but I dig it 100%. The show puts it right in your face that it's no secret that change must come about and it's not going to be easy to pull off what they're there for.

At this point in time, I need a 'Jillian' more than ever to go to the next level. To me, watching what they do on that show is and was a big missing component on my journey. I damn-well know I couldn't have exercised like those peeps do at my beginning, now maybe I could if I had a whippin' stick like Jillian around.

I'll pass on the 'gay' trainers, not that there's anything wrong with that...

Omg . . . Omg . . . Omg!

OMG! I can't believe even the older man lost a record high of 31 lbs. in one week. Even though it's water weight, it's still weight. What a motivation to work even harder to see a remarkable difference. All of the contestants lost good weight last night. I know they work so hard with the trainers, but if they can do it, we can too! I am just going to take it one week at a time. It doesn't seem so hard if I look at it from a short-term perspective. I still have my long-term goal, but I don't want it to be so overwhelming psychologically. Good luck to us all! :jump:

yea i go back and forth with thinking that bobs gay. ive got pretty good gaydar but hes a tough one. i actually settled in my mind on him being straight but you never really know i guess. i searched all over the internet loking for an answer and i couldnt find one. whatever he is hes keeping it well hidden.

haha, that reminds me when I lost my first 30-some pounds and no one could notice.

380 to 350 not noticable
290 - 260 - that's a big jump something should have been seen -

even the chick who went from 230 to 210 - she actually looked a lot heavier than that - but that should have been a noticable difference - 20lbs is a big jump -

measurements would have been more interesting to see than the actual numbers...

google "is bob on the biggest loser gay" and there are forums all over the place, including yahoo answers speculating...

and there are many females willing to convert him.

There's also some specutation that one fo the female trainers is or was a man...

Now, seriously, I want back the 5 minutes of my life I spent looking for the answer...

I don't really have a take on the show.

I mean, within the first few minutes of the show, you've got people carrying 100s of extra pounds sprinting across the desert. At least it was on a soft surface. But still impactful. Not very wise IMO.

But getting into specifics I think is stupid.

What I took home is what I've known all along. People who reach that level of obesity, most of the time, are dealing with a crazy amount of psychological stress. Just look at all the tears.

Personally, I've dealt with a number of people who are much larger than the contestants. I'm talking 550+ lbs. With each of them, it becomes very apparent that although some of them were generally happy.... much of their obesity problems are psychological. Or I should say you have psychological problems translating into physiological problems.

There are aspects of the show that I hate. I don't like the drastic weight loss process these contestants go through. I don't think it's safe nor realistic. I think it gives viewers the wrong impressions.

On the flip-side though, it shows viewers that weight loss isn't some voodoo magic. It's very possible to change your life.

And it reminds me of why I do what I do.

I got a little choked up even, watching how happy some of those guys were when they realized how much weight they lost. I think I relate it to some of the people I help.

The show makes me realize that I wish there were more good/creative trainers out there that would dedicate their time to helping these people. The ones who really need it. Not the stupid women you find in most gyms that don't really need trainers.

Seeing how appreciative these people are, and I've experienced a bit of the same thing (I can't say to the same degree b/c I'm not the god damn biggest loser show) but still, obese people are always so appreciative of the help.

It makes me wish everyone had to spend a few years as an obese person, then subsequently got fit. You don't realize how fortunate you are until you meet someone who is 500+ lbs and has to worry about whether or not they'll be able to go to their daughter's graduation because of seating. Worse yet, will she have to be wheeled in or walk in. (speaking of a woman I'm working with at the moment).

They say you can't 'truly' live until you've lost everything.

Well being trapped by your own body is as close I've seen anyone coming to losing 'everything.'

So it's a very humbling experience.

I think the positive of the show, if any, is that it spreads this same type of awareness I have to the masses.

I don't like that it took a show such as this to do this... but whatever. I don't like that it took this show for people (contestants) to realize that they CAN DO THIS. But for most of them, it helps them, so that's good.

I'm rambling..... I could go on and on I'm sure but I'll quit here. I'll probably watch the season. I'm interested.

I can't wait to watch it,.....I DVR'd it to watch on the treadmill asap. I'm amazed & encouraged that Steve's review too! Never really watched it before but why not? I might learn something.

...& seriously who cares if the guy is gay or not? Unless he is popping up under my sheets it really doesn't effect my life at all.

I've watched most of every season and can say that this show has always interested me. If they can keep it off after the drill sergeant atmosphere is gone is the biggest question. I am impressed by the older man in this season, all these younger people than him and he stills out performs them. Hope he can keep it up but time will tell.

I wonder what week they are actually in right now?

yea i was gonna say the same thing.
te only reason i care if bob is gay or not is cause hes HOT and i wanna have his babies. hahaha! im excited that other people are as pumped about the seaon as i am. im a huge fan of jerrys already. i was the second he called bob "bobby". my friends and i were loving it!! im excited to see what kind of numbers jillians team puts up after 2 weeks... its probably gonna be INSANE.

I had lost about 70lb before anyone even noticed id lost weight. going from fat to fat isnt that noticeable ... then from the last 20lb i lost suddenly everyone comes up and goes 'oh wow you've lost a lot of weight really really fast' and im like 'actually no, i lost it over a year'

Call me a geek if you will - but i didnt notice he was gay until 3rd series :/
Though i didnt notice my friend had an accent until about a year after i met her and she mentioned she was south african (and it was a pretty strong accent lol)

And as for what Steve said - i did always wonder why they are so heavy on the running in Biggest loser, Surely that much running at larger weights cant be that good for your legs/knees.

I got to watch tonight too. I about teared up when the "black" team thought they weren't going to get a chance.

Jillian is nicer than her persona. I get emails from looking into her program. Maybe she doesn't write the blurbs, who knows?

And Bob, I like him. I would want to be on his team if I was ever in that position.

The blond, I don't know her name because I didn't watch the show last year. She's just somewhere in the middle of the two for me.

Why did they change from the comedian to the soap star to host the show?

I remember watching the first season of this. I really haven't kept up on watching it. I watched a few episodes last season and I caught the tail end of last week's episode. If I can tonight I will watch it...just depends on what I am doing.

the blonde is named Kim and I havent liked her from day 1. she told all the people on her team that she had "body issues" lst season. i was SO mad.

they switched from Caroline to Alison i think because they had originnaly cast caroline after she was on celebrity fit club years ago... and i suspect they werent happy that she had put a lot of that weight back on. I dont know that for a fact, thats kind of my idea.
this alison sweeney chick is apparantly known for her weight loss on days of our lives. i dont watch soaps (only the prime time ones) so i didnt know her and when they showed her as "overweight" i was kind of annoyed but, whatever.

in any case, im really excited for this weeks show to see what kind of numbers the black team puts up.

I've seen her on soaps - only because when I was younger my step-mom watched them constantly. She's not the "best" actress IMO. She did have a weight problem, but I think she was a young kid then - but you know how they always make it a bigger problem than it is. I may be wrong but I think she did some celebrity endorsements for fat-loss supplements. :( I'll have to check and report back.

I just found it - Allison Sweeney at one time endorsed Xenadrine EFX. :( Also, she was never more than 15 lbs overweight at any given time. I don't know how much she "suffered" from weight issues.

yea thats kind of what bothers me about all that. in addition to that, i jusy dont think shes a very good host. i liked caroline better.

hah yeah a lot of celebs or personal trainers go "oh but i used to be fat .. i know how you feel" and none were any more than a few kg over chubby maximum :)
