Big...but not hard

Get your mind outa the gutter. :)

Anyways, I was noticing that my bis are a decent size, but they're not rock solid. They're pretty hard, but I was wondering if there was any method to get them real hard. Maybe it comes with size? idk... for bis I currently do 3:10,8,6... I have 25 lbs. per DB and I do curls (I don't switch off, both at same time). Then I do same amounts/set up with Hammer Curls.

It's kinda same thing with tris...but I don't do as much work on tris as I should, mostly due to lack of equipment...but in the next week I'm getting a bench, EZ bar, etc. so I'll be able to add excercises to my whole routine. So tris I'm not really thinking about atm, just the bis.

Any suggestions?

So.. Lei, the myofibrillar hypertrophy is when you do stuff in the 6-8 rep range?

And Merciless, curls is not what makes your bi's really grow, rows/pullups and stuff like that does it. Compound movements.

here's a question: if you can do 10 reps with 25lbs....why are you only using 25lbs on your 6 rep set?? I would think you could pop 27.5lbs, maybe even 30lbs.

also, the biceps will only be 'rock hard' when flexed, period.

otherwise, your body fat is too high and you have fat covering the biceps, making the appear soft.

Thanks alot Lei, that was a big help. I'll start to switch up my training.
Karky, I do rows...but I don't have a pull up bar.
Malkore, I don't know. I'll start seeing about switching up the weights at the end, ty. But this post was ment for when I was flexing. I know that it won't be rock solid without flexing, at least for now... maybe in a year or so it will.

no problem. original post didn't mention flexing so I wanted to make sure you knew that even when huge and ripped, they'll be 'squishy' when not tensed up.
