Big arms

Hi,

For about the lat 6 or 7 months I have been building up my arms.
I'm having to do all this at home as I am not a member of a gym and cannot afford it or afford expensive equipment right now.

I started off gently, but now i have a bag filled with everything from a couple of old dumbells right down to marbles and water which comes up to about 15Kg. Morning and evening do 25 reps of bicep curls on each arm seperately with this bag, then 50 press-ups and 100 sit-ups.

Basically, I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for other exercises i can do at home as I'm out of ideas and could do with some variation and something a bit mroe strenuous.

Many thanks.

Push ups and pull ups - all different kinds, dips.

I can't afford the gym either, so I workout at home with a pull up station that allows me to do pullups, pushups and dips. Works well.

If you can't afford one of those, you can still do push ups, you can figure out a way to do dips, and you can probobly afford a pull up bar.

Good luck.

I CAN afford a gym but I choose to work out at home. I'm not doing it to socialize.
Like MC, I have a pull up station as well as a few pull up fixtures I made and placed all over. One is in my living room, one in my garage, and two at work. Dips and push-ups can be done anywhere. Also try a headstand press for extra tone and strength. It's basically a headstand, and you press YOURSELF.
Close grip push-ups and Chinese push-ups are great for the tris and they don't hurt like dips do sometimes.
An awesome arm workout is doing pull-ups and then chin-ups back to back and then take a short rest and repeat.

I have noticed these mentioned in other threads too, sorry if it's really obvious but what are dips? Also chinese push-ups? And what's the difference between a pull-up and a chin-up?

Thanks

Yeah Johnny, you got me on that one, what is a chinese push up?

Must be a military thing.

Feet together, count exactly 5 hand lengths from your toes and place your hands flat on the floor with your forefingers and thumbs forming a diamond. Then do a push up. Chest or chin should be on top of your hands when you go down. This exercise is tough as hell but works. It has your butt in the air providing extra weight for your arms compared to diamond pushups.

Pull ups = palms out (back and Bis)
Chin ups= palms in (Bis)

dips
