better oblique excercises

I'm looking for some good oblique excercises. At the moment I do knee drops and butterfly crunches, and my low and mid abs are coming along nicly, but my sides are not improving.

I've tried side planks, but my arms just don't seem strong enougth, they giveway way before my obliques. I'd rather not do side crunches or oblique crunches as they take up too much time, having to do a rep each side. I stuggle to keep my workout below one hour as it is.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
I'd suggest you try some type of boxing workout in place of whatever type of cardio you are doing now.The torso twisiting required when punching will get your midsection looking nice in no time.
 
I'd love to do some boxing but the nearest club is 40 minutes away. I had a look at the home punch bags, bit too expensive to justify it just for my obliques.

What about racket sports like tennis or squash? there's quite a bit of twisting in that for stoke play. But then again tennis players are not known for the fab abs?
