best way to burn off fat?

really..diet means more than exercise.

I know a personal trainer who says jumping rope is one of the best ways to burn fat. But really, any regular exercise is going to give you results. The minimum amount recommended to get your metabolism revved up is 150 minutes a week - so that translates to 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Try mixing it up, on some days walk or run. On other days, do some weight training, other days go for some swimming, etc.
Good Luck!

i know eating right is essential... but whats the best excercise? jogging? swimming?

Having my own experience and observing other people I know I think it depends on how much weight you have to lose:

- if you need to lose more than 60 pounds then a healthy diet (with or without calorie counting) plus 30 - 45 minutes cardio workout (any type as long as you get your heart rate up and keep it up) should reduce weight at a good pace providing you stick with it

- if you have 30 - 60 pounds to lose then a healthy diet plus cardio and weight work will reduce fat and maintain/build muscle but you still have to stick with it

- if you have less that 30 pounds to lose then often it's harder to reduce fat without building muscle and monitoring your diet very closely. So cardio, weight and core strength work 5 days a week with close monitoring of your diet (either by calorie counting or sticking strictly to protein, vegetables/fruit, nuts, olive oils, avoiding processed foods etc)

And I think it takes a combination of diet management and exercise to lose weight and even then it has to be a lifestyle commitment otherwise it doesn't work longer term.

Anything that will get you moving, you like to do, and will continue to do, will be the best - for some it is jogging, others swimming, everyone is different. If you don't like the exercise you are less likely to do it (even if it burns the most calories). So find something you like and start moving! :)

There's really no "best" exercise for all people. Everybody is different and benefits from different exercises in their own unique way, so you really just have to experiment and find out what works best for you.

Personally, running helps me lose the most weight. It increases my endurance as well. But, I also benefit from lifting weights. I don't get as exhausted, I get muscle tone and I burn fat. Both forms of exercise work well for me, but in different ways. You just have to try different things and figure out what your body responds to best.

I read that doing cardio for 10 then any form of core for 5 then 5 cardio then 5 core then 5 cardio.... so on and so on for as long as you want helps
