Eat as much as you can, lift as heavy as possible..add 5 lbs after each rep and don't GO BACK!, get some whey protein 2 scoops ..6 times a day, multivitamin..

That is largely terrible advice. If you eat as much as you can, you'll get fat. Maybe fat and muscle, but definitely some fat. You need to eat a calculated amount (roughly 500 calories above maintenance). Considering that you want to build muscle with minimal fat gain, you'll need to pay close attention to your diet.

2 scoops of whey 6 times a day? Most whey powder I've come in contact with is 20 grams of protein per scoop. That's 240 grams of protein daily just from shakes. That's not good. You're way better off getting your protein from real food (chicken and lean beef). Use whey protein shakes to supplement (add protein to your diet when you couldn't possibly eat any more).

I just said what I heard from professional body builder..if you want to get buff you have to push yourself..I don't think you'll die from overeating or get fat if you are working out properly and spending an hour in the gym not 10 hours..but again what do they know ;).

I did not say eat garbage when I said eat as much as you can...I meant healthy food ..offcourse you won't get fat if you eat vegetables

reviving an old topic =].

thanks on the advice lads, i've been trying to eat as much as i can, alot of protein shakes and weigh gain shakes and hitting the gym.

i have just a few more questions.

should i be aiming to intake around 2000 calories a day judging by my weight?

and should i use the protein shake and weigh gain shake at the same time and should i really take 6? i thought 1 a day was alot haha =]

Thanks

My advice: drop the chemicals! stop using protein shakes/bars, basically any supplement
do some Googleing and find out your BMR, and after that calculate your TDEE.
Add 300 to the TDEE. The number resuted is the amount of calories you want to consume during a day.
Your calories should come mainly from protein and carbs (40% carbs, 40% protein, 20% fat).
Try and eat more complex carbs then sugars (vegetables, rice, etc.)
Get your protein from lean sources (chicken/turkey breast, tuna, egg whites, fat free diary)
Get the fats from nuts, seeds and fish.

Training wise. If you are a begginer, yous hould stick to bodyweight-only execises for 2/3 months.
do dips, push-ups, pull-ups, squats, lunges and planks.

After that choose a good routine that would suit your level (i would strongly recommend a pull/push/legs routine - give me a pm for more indepth info)

Never neglect rest. sleep 9 hours a night. don't abuse clubs and stay away from alcohol and smoking.
